We got to the hotel early, about noon time. We were told the room was not ready, although we were given our key. We came back at 8PM. When we arrived back at the room it appeared quite clean. We discovered that the telephone did not work and they only left one set of towels. We went to the office, but it was closed. No big deal at that point. At about 9:30 we went to get into bed. We checked the sheets earlier and they were clean. However getting in bed we noticed long black hairs all over the blanket - both sides. We also noticed many stains. Using my cell phone, I called the hotel office to ask for new bedding. No answer - no answering machine. It was a rough night sleeping with only sheets, and our sweatshirts for warmth as it was quite chilly. We told the manager in the morning but he didn't believe us so I had him go with us to the room and showed him. He proceeded to yell and throw the sheets and blankets around in a fit. We told him that we felt they did a lot of work in painting, ironing curtains and sheets to make the room nice and clean, however the awful blanket and not getting ahold of him for new bedding were a problem. As an aside - there was a note on the back of the door saying not to drink the water. Of course, no note over the sink where the water is located - and folks don't usually read the back of doors. We were still charged for the room ($97. plus tax for 1 double bed) and when i called to ask for a refund or discount, the owner's wife stated "you are just looking for money." I don't think we should pay full price in this instance - but evidently, they are 'just looking for money.' Drive by folks - drive by.
Go somewhere else - or check every inch before the office closes at 8 pm.
