“Dissapointing food, uncomfortable atmosphere and mediocre service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2011

We heard several good things about this restaurant. It was a very hot night and I would say that they either did not have air conditioning or it was not working. We waited way too long for our server to come to the table initially. The haddock was dry and did not seem fresh. However the homemade pie for dessert was excellent. Service in general was slow, our water glasses remained empty after we drank the water. There were several instances in the restaurant where things were being dropped on the floor near us and breaking. The oveall experience was very dissapointing!

“Scenic outside setting with the freshest ingredients”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2011

Fresh ingredients in a beautiful outdoor setting overlooking the golf course. A bit out to the way but worth the drive to get away from the busy-ness of route one wells. The tea breads are always delicious, and the crepes guaranteed to be perfect every time.

“My favorite restaurant in Wells”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2011

My family loves this restaurant, and our guests are always impressed ... setting is lovely, service is good, portions are large, and food is scrumptious. I'm addicted to their haddock reuben (with coleslaw). Have never been disappointed with breakfast or lunch ... have yet to make it to dinner (only served on Friday and Saturday evenings).

“Hilltop Scrumptiousness”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2011

Hilltop Scrumptiousness
This place is a bit off the beaten track (aka, Route 1), but not to worry, it’s only a mile or so up Cole Road. The story here is a gourmet breakfast on an outdoor patio overlooking a rolling meadow that doubles as a golf course. It is truly serene and the breakfast is very impressive: Peach/blueberry/Raspberry Stuffed French toast, Eggs Jamison (the signature dish consisting of poached eggs with hollandaise and asparagus), Lobster Benedict, Pancakes and amazing apple wood bacon). The servers here are excellent and everything arrives just as ordered. Long- time customers miss the old hand cut potatoes and baked bread, but these are of little note given the superabundance of everything else. Tip: In the fall, you can make a right turn on Cole Road and continue on to Spillers Farm and pick your own apples.

“Amazing - Best Breakfast Ever & HUGE”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2010

When the Maine Diner was spilling over with people with an hour wait a friend suggested the Merriland Farm Cafe. I was dubious... But the food was incredible, the service fast, pleasant and tolerant of 5 children and one entitled granddad. I had the Irish Hash - Humongous, delicious and satisfying like Thanksgiving dinner. The kids loved their crepes and fruit. The coffee was delicious and Granddad lived on his Pig Out dish leftovers for the entire weekend. Oh, I forgot to mention the serene setting on a wee three-hole golf course. Pass up the Maine Diner and head straight to this place.
