“John and Susan treat us like family!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2009

This was my fourth stay at "Haven By the Sea" and it just get's better every time! My sister-in-law and I have such a pleasant time there. Our room is always immaculate and cozy. Susan makes the most delicious breakfast anyone could ever want. And John always greats us with open arms. We truly feel like we are 'home" when we stay with them. Whether we need reservations for dinner or the theatre, they will make them for us or they will call to make sure a restaurant is still serving. One of my favorite things about staying at "Haven By the Sea" is I always meet the nicest people who are also staying there. We meet on Friday evening usually and by Sunday at breakfast we are all old friends. You know with the economy this year the way it is, we probably could have stayed somewhere else for a "cheaper" room, but we could not give up all that we have come to love at "Haven."

This was my first experience staying in a B&B and it was delightful. Walk across the street to Wells Beach or enjoy the close proximity to lots of restaurants and all the attractions of Ogunquit. Haven by the Sea is a completely "retooled" church building and it is absolutely charming. The rooms are adequate and exceptionally clean. A delicious breakfast on the deck overlooking the bay is about as good as it gets! Spending a few days with John & Sue will make you forget all the things that annoy you back home!

John & Susan have always provided a wonderful experience, as if we were coming back home. Everything was wonderful as usual and we look forward to our next visit. After all we have been "visiting" for 10 years!

From the moment we arrived, the hosts introduced us to other guests. They made you feel at home and did their best to create a comfortable, friendly atmosphere. Breakfast was delicious and different every day. We especially enjoyed the late afternoon happy hour and conversation with the hosts and other guests. The rooms, as well as the entire bed & breakfast home, was very comfortable. Being less than a block from Wells Beach was another terrific asset.

We've just returned from a return visit to Haven by The Sea. Again, we were not disappointed! The accomodations, hospitality, and opportunity to meet new guests can not be beat!! John and Susan are hands-on innkeepers who strive to meet any and all needs (dinner reservations, directions, etc) that guests may have..... these are the traits that set them apart from all other innkeepers.

Can't wait to go back!!!

This Inn was fabulous. It was it a great location in wells where you could easily walk to the beach in a matter of 2 minutes. My husband and I had coffee on the beach in the mornings and went for walks on the beach before our sleepy teens woke to eat breakfast. Breakfast was served in a very nice central part of the Inn that was actually the alter and high alters of the chuch that the innkeepers renovated. We stayed in the 2nd floor balcony area that overlooked this eating area. The outside deck was very pleasant to sit for a cocktail. John made VERY GOOD martinis. I need to find out how he made those! The cocktail hour was enjoyable and it was nice to meet the other guests staying there and share stories. He and his wife Susan are very good people. The Inn was VERY clean. The "chamber maid" was a nice young man who met the clean standards of the marticulous owners. We all had a very nice time and would go back in a minute. In fact, now would be good!

We're not usually drawn to B & B's, but had no time to dilly dally over where to stay and took the plunge based on Trip Advisor. We were well satisfied with our 1 night stay despite truly lousy weather. The owners were helpful, attentive, and amusing. The room was well appointed and comfortable. There were yummy drinks and hors d'oeuvres for happy hour and a divine hot breakfast the following morning.
