We went to Morse's Kraut House in Waldoboro for lunch on September 28th. My son, husband and I got the Pork Schnitzel with red cabbage and spaetzle. It was excellent and reminded us of our trip to Germany last year. The meal was quite large, delicious and reasonably priced. They also served different types of sausages. I noticed that a lot of people were ordering Reuben sandwiches, There are only 6 tables in the restaurant and we had to wait for about 20 minutes. While waiting, we were able to look around the adjacent shop that sold German and European foods. They do not serve beer or alcoholic beverages in the restaurant, but we didn't mind. They do have crocks of pickles on the table for you to enjoy while you wait for your meal. We will definitely go back if we are ever in the area. While in the store, we bought some of their garlic sour pickles, their sauerkraut and some wonderful applewood smoked bacon. The sauerkraut was excellent and we are enjoying the pickles. The bacon was very thick, some what salty, but very good.
