“Old restaurant that serves good food.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2012

We stopped here on suggestion from a staff member at our motel. The place is older and on the main highway into Acadia Park. The food we ordered was delicious; meatballs the size of tennis balls (seriously). Would have given a better rating but the service was slow and left a bit to be desired.

“Great restaurant!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2012

This is one of our favorite restaurants on the island! The food is always consistent and the menu varied for all appetites. But the best aspect is being greeted by Debbie's friendly smile and that she always remembers our preferred cocktail.
Try to go on Saturday night when Roberta serenades you with the classics and and will allow you to accompany her on stage as many locals do-don't be shy!

“excellent experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2012

I took my sister and brother-in-law to Top of the Hill on September 4, 2012, and we loved it. Wonderful, welcoming staff; very flexible about ordering (substitutions, helping make our order gluten free, recommending dishes, etc.), and the food was delicious. We had both beef and Italian dishes, and both were wonderful. Nice atmosphere, and felt more "local" than "touristy," with home cooking. Highly recommend.

“Always a delight ...part of going home again”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2012 via mobile

Have had many years of excellent meals and service at Top of the Hill. This last week I was very impressed with the blackened scallops served with a blueberry sauce. A perfect little bite of flavor while preserving the succulent moisture of the shellfish...balanced yummily with wonderful Maine blueberries.
Aside from the great food, it is like Old Home Day to see so many SWHbr folks all gathered! The locals really miss this restaurant when she closes for the season in October. Whenever I driver by, Top of the Hill is always busy in season.
Lets hope Debby does not retire soon!

“Great food, family friendly, wonderful meatballs”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2012

We have enjoyed several great meals at Top of the Hill this summer, but our favorite experience was taking our three grandchildren to dinner. Our twin three year old boys are very picky eaters, but to our surprise they ate every bit of the spaghetti and sauce which they loved. They finished one huge meatball between them and asked for more. When the second meatball order arrived they actually cheered for the meatballs. They finished dinner with ice cream and chocolate sauce and agreed this was the best restaurant ever. ( My husband and I really enjoyed the prime rib, the best on the island.)
