Description: Eat, drink and be messy. A visit to Beal's Lobster Pier is always a highlight - a restaurant that's on the water, with an atmosphere that's down to earth. At our working lobster pier in Southwest Harbor, Maine, you and your family will have a blast watching the boasts coming in and the lobstermen unloading their fresh catch. Hear the creak of rope on the moorings. Catch the scent of saltwater on the breeze and enjoy the waterfront view while chowing down on the freshest lobster you can eat. (Don't worry, the napkins are on us!)

“Best place to cook your lobster!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2014

We brought in 25 people and 37 pounds of lobster. Couldn't have been more accommodating! Provided everything we needed for a very reasonable price. Staff was so sweet and we kind of took over the whole place......great time...great establishment!

“Pick your own lobster!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2014

We loved Beal's so much we ended up eating there twice. I loved that we got to choose our own lobsters, and the prices were awesome! The staff is very friendly, patiently waiting and helping make your lobster selection. I wish I didn't live across the country from Beal's!

“Great Food, Good ambience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2014

Delicious fresh inexpensive lobster, we paid around $20 for a large one. The sides are also very good we had the pickles and the sweet potato wedges both very good. The lobster was really the star, and oh boy that was good. Initially we waited quite a bit for it, so we started fearing they would over cook it but fear not, these guys know what they are doing. The lobster was very moist and we ate the tomalley with a spoon and oh my good...so good. There are no instruments to break it down but they crack the claws which is really the only part you need instruments for. If you have basic techniques down to crack open each part of the lobster you can do it without even a fork (it's messy but hey that's half of the fun).
The staff was helpful and there are amazing views over the water. We were there at sunset which definitely is a good idea.

“Freshest Lobster Ever!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2014

I've been to Beal's before and It has always been good, but this last visit was Fantastic! The whole place looks great with big chalk board signs, fresh paint and new super clean bathrooms. There were so many great choices on the menu. We had Lobster (of course!), Lobster grilled cheese with the choice of Gluten free Bread, the Dockhand burger with this amazing Siracha mayo and bacon on it, chowder, hand cut fries and sweet potato wedges, homemade applesauce and Blueberry pie.Lots of choices for the Seafood lover and the Non-Seafood eaters in the group. The service was really friendly and the view was amazing. You can even arrive by boat! We will definitely be back more frequently.
