“Fresh Food, Stale Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2014

Stopped in for lunch with the family while on vacation. The atmosphere of this small place is fairly plain. It has the feel of a locals hangout versus a tourist destination. The service was really pretty bad. They had one waitress who was super slow and not very attentive. HOWEVER, the food more than makes up for these shortcomings. Everything is homemade and you can tell the quality and care that goes into it. The kids had some of the pizzas, which are not large nor cheap, and loved them. The homemade chili is also fantastic. The best part was the homemade ice cream for dessert. I can still taste the bananas foster flavor! The owner/chef comes out and helps a little with serving and talks up the patrons. He was great. If he can pass some of that energy on to the wait staff he'll have a gem. I am rating this very good based on the food and the personality of the owner. If you are in a rush or are looking for a cheap lunch, this may not be for you.

“very pricey”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2014

garden salad, chicken sandwich special, two blueberry lemonades, a tiny cup of she crab spicy soup, a two very tiny sides of coleslaw. Grand total $38! the soup alone was $9 and ax the street at Sips- much nicer, more sophisticated, better ambiance restaurant a cup of their soup(homemade and all that jazz-only $3!) Don't get me wrong the service and the food were good but $38! That is crazy.

“Relax and feel welcome”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2014

Very unpretentious, welcoming, and relaxed - a little like eating over at a friend's house, in a good way. The food was very good. The prices were reasonable. The service was friendly and casual. Nothing fancy, but I would easily return here again and again. As one reviewer said, "the place makes you feel like a local." I think that sums it up well.

“great homemade food in a casual, warm atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

Our whole family loves this place! Every year when we are in town, we have at least a couple of meals here. WhT I especially love is that the owner, Johnny, remembers us. It is one of those places that makes you feel like a local. They have a wonderful and ecclectic menu. Casual, a mixture of american with some local as well as mexican style dishes. The strawberry rubbharb smoothies and ice cream are homemade by Johnny, and wonderful. Save room! Great place!

“Great Take Out!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2014

We ordered take-out from Jay Dubs and were very happy with our choice. The burgers were so good and the fries were perfect! They do not take cards, but they do provide an ATM so you can take cash out. Very friendly staff and great food and an easy location.
Only thing I would advise people of is that the hours are not very consistent, so it may be best to call ahead and make sure they are open, other than that, great place!
