We loved the Bear Mountain Inn. Very clean and very cozy. All the things you love about Maine and expect in a winter getaway were included. The Fuzzy Bear Suite with its own wet bar and antique style gas fireplace ensured that we were warm and toasty during the evenings. We were treated each morning to a breakfast freshly prepared and beautifully presented. With several large fireplaces, country charm, and sprawling grounds, we felt like we were million miles away from it all. Yet a few miles in either direction brough us to a number of great restaurants and attractions. From massages to sleighrides, the staff at Bear Mountain Inn can arrange it all and they do it with such hospitality and care that we cannot help but plan another escape there this summer.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Bear Mountain Inn in Waterford, ME. We enjoyed our time there. The Innkeeper, Loraine, was very hospitable. When we first arrived, she had just bakes some cookies. She gave us a few to take back to the room. The rooms were plenty big enough. The knotty pine walls and ceilings made us feel like we were staying in a lodge. The bed was comfortable. The room we stayed in had a small gas fireplace, which made it very romantic. Each morning, we had a great breakfast. The food was fantastic.

I would definitely stay again at the Bear Mountain Inn. I would love to see what the area looks like in spring or summer. The Inn is located on a large pond, Bear Pond. There is some wild life around. We saw a dozen wild turkeys.

The Inn is located near some mountains. We went tubing one day for a couple hours. I wanted to go skiing but there was never enough time in the day.

I would recommend staying at the Bear Mountain Inn. It is a great place to get away for a few days. It is great for couples, to spend time together.

My boyfriend and I decided to take a little three day ,snowmobile, get away for valentines day. It was my first time riding a snowmobile so, I was nervouse. We got to the inn and first we were taken by the view...beautiful barely explains it. Once inside the inn we were both taken aback. You could tell there was a lot of love inside these walls, and I forgot about how scared I was to get on that snowmobile. We went sledding a little our first day there. And by the way I had a great time. The next day, valentines day, there was a snow storm. They got another foot of snow on top of the three or so they already had. It snowed and rained all day. So we were stuck inside. This might sound like a ruined vacation but this is when Lorraine and Ricki, the inn keepers, came to the rescue. Making sure we were warm, fed and happy. We went sledding the next day with the help of Lorraine. She called around and found out where they were grooming trails. Both Lorraine and Ricki went beyond to help us get things together, fix what broke, dig out what was stuck, and dry off what was wet. Not only is this inn impecably neat and clean but is is warm and welcoming. The breakfasts were deliciouse, even the soap smelled great. We had a great time, a wonderful valentines day, and we will be back again. Thank you Lorraine, Ricki and Michelle you took us into your home, into your life, and most importantly into your hearts.

Myself, my girlfriend and a couple friend of ours vacation President's Day week 2008 at the Bear Mt. Inn. We booked a snowmobile pacjage and had a blast. Aside from the conditions being perfect for our adventure the Inn itself was delightful. Lorraine, Rickie and Michelle made us feel very much at home. The has a very warm Maine feeling to it surrounded by nature. In surrounding towns are great to head out at night or during the day for a drink and a great bite to eat. Everyone we encountered along our vacation was extremely kind. Thank you Bear Mt. Inn for a GREAT vacation. We'll be back!!!

“Magical Winter Wonderland!!!”

Bear Mountain Inn

Feb 17, 2008

Our stay at the Bear Mountain Inn was a fantastic experience. We stayed in the Grizzly Suite, and we were very happy there. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious and Lorraine and Rickie made us feel warmly welcomed. But the winter scenary itself was the most spectacular part of our stay. The snow was piled high and a fresh layer arrived daily. The owners of the inn arranged a beautiful horse-drawn sleighride for my husband and I which capped our magical stay at the inn.
