My husband and I stayed in the Sugar Bear Cottage at The Bear Mountain in last fall. We enjoyed it so much that we booked the same cottage again for their Valentines Package. (We are going this weekend!)
Everything was so comfortable, warm and cozy. Lorraine & Ricky made our stay extra special. They even helped us with reservations for dinner.
My favorite was soaking in the clawfoot tub in the evening. The breakfast was 5 star with fresh fruit, scones, french toast, and the best coffee we ever had.
I can't say enough about how special and personal our mini vacation was!

The Bear Mountain was more than I ever expected it to be, The inn keepers and all guests were incredible. Everyone made you feel so welcome. We took advantage of one of the elopement packages and it we could not have asked for better day. They made the day so special. Even other guests got us gifts and congratulated us. I would go back in a heartbeat and would recommend them to anyone. I could not have asked for anything better on such a special day.

We stayed at Bear Mountain Inn for 3 nights. We booked the Sugar Bear Cottage, which is a stand-alone cottage apart from the main inn. The inside of the cottage makes you feel like you're in a log cabin, with wood everywhere. Its absolutely adorable. It has a fireplace, full kitchenette, claw-footed tub, and even a flat-screen tv. Everything you can ask for. There are also little trinkets everywhere that really make you feel at home. The cottage even overlooks a picturesque lake. Lorraine and Rickie, the innkeepers, are so accomadating and really make you feel at home. For example, when we got snowed in one night, they brought us food to make sure we didn't go hungry. Also, the breakfasts were fabulous. Every morning, they make you an ornate plate of fruit plus a hot entree. And the food is so good. I highly recommend the Bear Mountain Inn for a great winter weekend getaway!

My wife and I stayed in the Great Grizzly room for our mini honeymoon. Lorraine and Ricky made us feel like family at their country house, from the first morning when we came down to a reserved table for two. As we started eating the fresh fruit, Lorraine welcomed us and started the fireplace. Ricky welcomed us and gave us information on snowmobiles that we were renting for the next 2 days.

After getting the snowmobile stuck in the snow in the woods I called my wife. Lorraine called the Snowmobile Company for help. They were comforted and reassured my wife that everything would be ok and help was on the way

After returning the snowmobiles we found ourselves in need of a ride back. Lorraine was more than happy to help, even though they were right in the middle of preparing for their New Years Eve dinner. Ricky stopped what she was doing and drove to pick us up and return us to Bear Mountain Inn.

The Great Grizzly room was beautifully decorated and had a great view of the lake. The Fireplace made it feel warm and cozy. We looked forward to breakfast every morning with its creative presentation and its excellent tasting food.

We can never thank them enough. We would definitely recommend staying at the Bear Mountain Inn to anyone.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Bear Mountain Inn for 2 nights in the "Great Grizzly Suite." The room was amazing, everything perfectly placed, decorated beautifully, and stocked with everything you could possibly need while on a getaway! We decided to book the elopement package and have our ceremony right at the Inn. We checked in on Friday evening. Upon entering the room, Rickie and Lorraine had placed 6 red roses on the table next to one of the very comfortable leather couches (there are two in the room.) There was a plate with chocolate covered strawberries and a fruit and cheese platter as well. Not to mention, the cafe style table for 2 in the room had champagne chilling on ice, very nicely appropriated and you could tell the platters and champagne were put together with the utmost care. The bathroom has a very spacious jacuzzi tub, complete with jets. Provided in the bathroom is a full glass shower, CD player, candles, matches to light the candles, and decorations that fit the theme of the Bear Mountain Inn. There is a skylight in the bathroom too, adding a romantic touch at night as your able to look up at the stars. Breakfast was great each morning. Upon entering the dining room, each table was set up with a fruit bowl and muffin or toast. After completing this serving, a hot meal was served personally by the owners, which the first day was omellettes and ham, second day french toast and sausage. The food was nice and hot, and very tasty. The ceremony was in the general living area in the downstairs of the Inn, next to the fireplace. Overall, our stay was everything we had hoped it would be, and more. The owners, Rickie and Lorraine, were very accomodating and knowledgeable about the area, activities, and definitely knew how to make guests feel at home. The Bear Mountain Inn exceeds the standards of todays hospitality industry and has definitely earned itself an annual guest. (on a side note, you can rent snowmobiles, take a private sleigh ride, have a massage therapist come to the Inn and provide private massages, or just sit in your room and enjoy the fireplace!) This place was great. Thank you for a great stay! We will see you next year.
