We were on a motorcycle trip through New England and "surprise" it was raining - too hard to continue on the bikes. We found the Merry Manor Inn. Greeted by Theodore and Tracy, we knew this would be a good place to stay. (and the cookies didn't hurt either!) This is a large property and it is an older property but it does have a pool and a bar/restaurant which was under renovation while we were there, however, still open. Nice to be able to just relax and have a drink. I ate in the restaurant and had the best soup - and they were kind enough to accomodate me even though I walked in just a few minutes before closing. Breakfast the next morning was delicious. If you leave hungry in the morning - that's your fault. Great selection of food. Being on bikes, we took advantage of our early stop day to do laundry. My husband has allergies to detergents and I was not able to find a detergent at the hotel or the "within walking distance" convenience stores. I asked Jess if she might be able to take me to a store when her shift was over and she was so very kind. While she would be unable to take me anywhere, she was more than willing to go to a nearby, yet not within walking distance, store and get the detergent and dryer sheets that I could use. Our rooms were large and comfortable. Very clean. I would not say modern but well appointed with what you need for a stay. TV, fridge, coffee maker in-room as well as coffee being available in the lobby at all times. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Great value for the price and it's all in one place - friendly merry faces, good food, a pool and good location.

We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us recently. Your experience is a great example of the friendliness and customer service we extend to every guest who walks through our doors. We strive to make everyone feel at home. I can do nothing but agree with you on how terrific Theodore, Tracy and Jess are. The restaurant is under renovation, but still serves one of the best breakfasts in town, and with qualifying rates, it is complimentary. The restaurant is currently also open from 5PM until 9PM. During this time, it serves a pub style menu and also has an "All you can eat" fried fish dinner on Fridays and an "All you can eat" shrimp dinner on Saturdays. Our rooms do come nicely appointed. All rooms have Bath and Bodyworks soap, shampoo, and lotion, coffemakers,wi-fi, and irons and ironing boards, If a refrigerator and microwave are not standard in your room, we have extras on request at no charge. Some of our King rooms have massage chairs. Soon all of our rooms will have 32 inch flat screen tv's. The next time you are in are area, please try one of our suites. We even have two specialty suites on the top floor that are amazing. One is the Captain's suite and the other is the Maine Lake Lodge. That one is my favorite. It has all the modern amenities you could ask for, plus all the the charm of a cozy cabin in the Maine woods. Thanks again for staying with us. Please keep us in mind if you are in this beautiful area again.
