Should be called the Curry Inn. Smells like curry. They say it was remodeled. what a laugh. remodeled by a half way contractor. They never remodeled the bathroom. What an absolute dump. I would rather sleep on my garage floor. You could feel the springs in your back. I asked for my money back. BEWARE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Room Tip: Dont stay here. If you want to throw your money away? Then stay here. I think your better off throw...

so we came on a last minute get away May 24th weekend *long weekend for Canadians* and we were pretty impressed with this motel. as most other reviews say, from the outside it looks a little sketchy, but overall wasn't bad. i agree with the other reviews that say there is a musty smell, stale cigarette smell...but again, how many years were these smoking rooms?..my guess is a while. heard a little noise from some kids who were partying next door but i was so tired i passed out within 10 mins. bed is comfortable, bathroom pretty big, microwave and fridge in the room. breakfast is dunkin' donuts. but hey, who doesn't like Dunkin's?! :)
would stay here again! however, please note, this is a BUDGET hotel. don't expect to be treated like a superstar!

There aren't many things to do in Portland unless you have family here. Even then, there aren't many attractions and during holiday weekends, it can be quite boring. You must have a rental car to be here because the bus services are extremely limited. Otherwise, you'll have to rely on cabs to get you back and forth. It costs roughly $15 - $20 to get anywhere.

Knight's Inn is located roughly 4 miles from the Airport and I picked it because the nightly fee was only $50. The room was very basic. Kingsized bed, microwave, mini fridge, basic cable TV, desk, nightables shower/bathtub and cabinets. It's basically a motel in the middle of nowhere. There is a 7/11 and Dunkin Donuts across the street, a Catholic church down the block and a gas station nearby.

The room smelled vaguely of cigarette smoke when I arrived - which is odd because the rooms are nonsmoking. The room was clean, but the bathroom paint and floor tiles showed signs of wear. For $50 a night, who's complaining?

Room Tip: If you are driving to Portland to snag some lobsters and need a place to stay for a night, this is a...

We stayed at the Knights Inn in South Portland in early October 2011, and it was a surprisingly good stay for the price that we paid. From first appearances, it looks a bit sketchy; however, our impressions quickly improved when we saw the room.

Upon arrival, we were checked-in relatively quickly at the Inn's main office; the Inn is such that the rooms are accessed directly from the parking lot in motel style. There are two buildings, one painted blue, the other yellow. Our room was in the yellow building, and when we entered our room, we were very pleasantly surprised. For a motel it was quite spacious, the furnishings all appeared to be brand new (except for an older-style CRT television), and the walls seemed to be freshly painted. The only thing unpleasant about the room that we could tell was a slight smell, probably an indication that the room was once a smoking room (it was now a non-smoking room). Otherwise, everything in the room was great. The television and cable worked well, there was a wireless connection available, and there were numerous lamps around the room.

We hardly heard a peep from any of our neighbors (though we noticed that there were no vacancies, and the parking lot was full). The cars on the highway could be heard when the bathroom window was open, but when closed we could not hear those cars at all. The only odd, occasional noise was that emanating from the air conditioner. This, however, did not keep us awake at all, and the room temperature remained comfortable for the entire night.

As for the staff: at check-in, a bit moody, at check-out, quite pleasant! In addition, there is a Dunkin Donuts immediately across the street from the hotel; very convenient for breakfast.

Overall, a good stay for a very cheap price. If in Portland again, we would consider staying here again.

Room Tip: The only room we saw, our own, was in the yellow building! Perhaps this building has been renovated...

The hotel was nice on the inside, very clean and neat in appearance. The air conditioning worked great! It is a good place to stay, but my only complaint was that it was a bit noisy. The hotel is right off a main road and you could hear the cars all night, pretty sure there is little insulation in the rooms. Other than that, it was a great stay. Although they say they have breakfast, it consists of Dunkin donuts and coffee or tea to go, which is better than nothing!

My husband and i stayed there for one night in the winter. There were not even fitted sheets on the beds! The floor wasnt vaccuumed and the bathroom wasnt clean. When my husban went to complain they informed us that if we were not satisfied we should take our money elsewhere, which is exactly what we do. This is a dirty dingy motel that i strongly reccomend you never stay!

WOW...I have never been treated with such disrespect...from the moment I walked in to check in, the staff was SO RUDE. They verbally assaulted my friend...we didn't even feel comfortable staying there and could not get refunded so we booked another hotel and paid for both! Disgusting stench in the room...and nasty. Also, they don't follow through with their online policies...they completely changed it in person and said if any extra person came to the room for even a brief second they would be charged $100 per person and the cops would be called. I'd NEVER EVER EVER stay there or recommend it to anyone. HORRIBLE SERVICE....HORRIBLE BUSINESS.
