This is not Holiday Inn, but.... I knew that going in from other reviews. The place met and exceeded our expectations and we will be back next year. After a few nights visiting relatives in Maine, we spent a Labor Day overnight here before returning home. We had stayed down the street from this inn a few years ago, so we knew of the beach and the quiet solitutde of the Pine Point area. Wish we had another day to stay. Walks on the beach at night and early morning were great. The weather was not totally cooperative (some rain), but the water was warm enough to wade even in early September. The staff was friendly and helpful and although we stayed in the motel section, they gave us a tour of the inn to give us a feel of what else they had to offer for lodging. The motel was somewhat dated, but it was quiet, roomy, clean and had a good TV. The shared kitchen was a bonus as we were able to prepare breakfast there. We are definitely going back next year and plan to try the inn for two nights. Now if the weather will cooperate. A final hurrah was the price. Other places in Pine Point that we checked out were still on summer rates. The Holiday changed on Labor Day, so it was considerably much less. Very affordable and far enough away from the crowds of Old Orchard Beach. The location is just over the line in Scarborough and is really a residential neighborhood.
