“Pleasantly surprised”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012 via mobile

We were driving from ME to VT when we came across this restaurant on urbanspoon. Quite honestly, we were not expecting too much out of it. Several items on their menu sounded suspiciously like those you would find in a polynesian restaurant. Such restaurants are pretty common in RI, and some of them would simply declare themselves as chinese restaurant. We, as you could probably guess, are not crazy about polynesian food.

In any case, because we were travelling, we decided to not order too much so we dont have leftovers. We had their hot and sour soup, szechuan style tofu and kung pao chicken. We also ordered a large rice for the 3 of us.

Our waitress, Jessica, was really nice. She took the time to check for us if an order of large rice would be enough for 3 people. She also came back a few mins after taking our order to tell us that the tofu had pork in it and asked if we would be fine.

The hot and sour soup, at about $3, was enough to share among all of us. The tofu was really good. The kung pao chicken was a very nice surprise. We have noticed some chinese restaurants tend to undercook their chicken, and we are very sensitive to that. But Green Tea cooked their chicken perfectly. The sauce that came with it was also so good that you could have your rice just with it!

Total bill came to around $26. We had a little bit of rice, and maybe 1/3 of each dish leftover that we decided to bring home.

The ambiance was pretty good. It was not as loud as some other chinese restaurants. Their dining tables are really pretty, with some chinese garden themed picture or painting on the surface. We had just visited China and the picture on the tables reminded us of the Summer Palace in Beijing. Nice and clean bathroom too.

Really a nice surprise!

“Great lunch deals!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2012

My friend and I went at lunch time when they have some very reasonably priced lunch deals. I got the sweet & sour chicken, crab rangoons and pork fried rice. My friend got the same but with vegetarian delight rather than chicken. The chicken was okay but the crab rangoons were some of the best that I ever had! The pork fried rice was also very good. My friend said her vegetarian delight was good as well and she had a huge portion. We were also given complimentary sweet and sour soup (free during lunch time) which was also delicious. The restaurant was very clean and the the atmosphere is modern and fun. The service was good as well. I will definitely be going back when I am in the area.
