I met my friends in Rockland after spending the day hiking in Camden Lake State Park. Rockland is less than 30 minutes from Camden (off season); it offers one of the best stores for highlighting local Maine artists (http://www.islandinstitute.org/archipelago.php). Anyway - Miranda's reminds me of a New York style restaurant with the small tables, artwork, and strong personalities. The menu had a broad selection of choices to satisfy vegetarian, gluten-free, and carnivore alike - all meals come with their house focaccia bread (yum) and we ordered the chips and salsa - both homemade. For dinner I had the polenta platter - lots of polenta smothered in cheese and crispy greens. My friends ordered burgers, huge burgers with your choice of toppings and a heavenly side of crispy French fries. We were quite stuffed! FYI - they had both indoor and outdoor seating.
