“Sophisticated Without Being Pretentious”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2013

Fog Bar & Café is a much welcomed addition to the MidCoast dining scene. The beer list (both on tap and in bottles) is 2nd to none…and the wine list is also superb (with many offerings by the glass). Both are also available as ½ pours which is very nice indeed.

The food is also fantastic – imaginative and well thought out. On my last visit I had the rabbit and dumpling stew and it was hands down one of the best stews I have ever had…it was that good. My partner had the gumbo it and it was also outstanding. A little bacon dusted popcorn (!!!!) to start and some sweet potato bread pudding with bacon ice cream to finish…and this was easily one of the most satisfying meals I have had in long time.

Prices for this quality of food/drink was also very good…excellent value.

The setting has sort of an urban/upscale type vibe…but it is far from being pretentious. In fact, on most nights I’ve gone there is usually at eclectic mix of patrons, from lobstermen to businessmen. It’s exactly the type of space that the MidCoast needed in its bar scene. The service is also very friendly.

I wholeheartedly recommend Fog.

“A Pleasant Surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2013

Having lived in Manhattan for almost 50 years, I've enjoyed the offerings of New York's best restaurants. Tonight, we decided to try this new "Fog" place everyone's raving on about. Skeptical and cynical, I expected adequately good food in a thoughtfully designed, visually compelling contemporary restaurant. FOG far exceeded my expectations. It was a pleasant surprise to be served one of the most delicious dinners I've experienced, perfectly prepared and artfully presented, and served by a pleasant, delightful, and professional staff.

“OK and pricey”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2013

Drinks were so strong I had to ask for something to add to it. Food was good but very expensive... especially for winter in Rockland!

“cocktails great- food so so”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013

The atmosphere is very uptown- love the lighting- and the music is great- a little loud though. Popcorn with bacon dust - wonderful. Burgers -ok Ribs-- tough
Dessert was way overpriced-- had the red beet twinkie-- it was so small I could eat it in one bite and tasteless- the ginger ice cream was excellent, but only given about a teaspoon- all this for only $8 !!! We have eaten here before and loved the chicken- the serving sizes for main courses are just right. The doughnut for dessert super yummy. Not available on this night, however.

“Great Food - Fun Atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

I can't say anything negative about this great new Rockland Restaurant. Go on Friday nights when Mike Bumiller is running the bar - he rocks!
