We stayed at this Hampton Inn in the beginning of August while driving through Maine with the family(Mom/Dad and twins). This is a very good hotel for the area, which is limited. The hotel is new and there still is local construction being performed in the area and across the hotel.
Usually check-in is a breeze with me because I prepay for the room via the website of the hotel that I'm staying at. I arrived at 15:45 on a sunday and my room(3rd floor) wasn't ready(hotel check-in 15H00) so they switched rooms. The front desk clerk gave me another room on the 4th floor. We went to our room and it was occupied with a couple relaxing in their bed. We returned to the front desk and the clerk gave me another room down the hall and this one was unoccupied. I'm travelling with my wife and young twins and my wife was paranoid that somebody might walk into our room at any given moment. This situation does raise some issues of security, I suggest locking your door at all times.
The rooms are very clean and well appointed for a comfortable stay. The views in this hotel are less than desirable, over looking a Walmart and a construction park in the back. The pool is clean and heated with fresh towels. There is a small gym for a light workout with a TV, water, and towels. The complimentary breakfast is your standard Hampton Inn breakfast, but the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming.
In closing this is a very clean and comfortable hotel for the area with a small security issue.

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. We are pleased to see that overall you were pleased with your stay. I have spoken with the Front Office Manager on duty that day and it seems a catalog of events led to the room confusion. Unusually we had a large amount of late check outs on Sunday morning after a local big event on the Saturday, this made the servicing of the rooms late and unfortunately your assigned room was not serviced in time. Along with this our reservation system went down and when it came back up it showed the first room you were re-assigned to as empty, when in fact it had been assigned the moment the system went down! We do apologize for this and assure you that it is not possible for us to assign a room once the system has already assigned it usually, it was an unfortunate circumstance due to computer error.
