If I get a hotel room for $75, I expect it to be pretty basic and have some minor flaws. As long as it's clean, I'm fine with it. But when I pay double that, I do expect better quality than what we found at this Clarion Inn.
The good: clean, comfy beds, free parking, free internet, convenient location, attentive service, free cot -- and we got lucky and got a real twin mattress with box spring that got rolled in on a rolling frame, but I later saw housekeeping delivering someone else a more typical fold-up spring-frame cot later in the day, so they're not all that nice (and as always, subject to availability). We had a room with a fridge and microwave, which was nice. There's a pool and exercise room, but we didn't use them, so I can't comment.
The not-so-good: Both the shower head and sink faucet were not in the best repair. Both were still usable, so we didn't bother calling maintenance to repair them for us. The entire 6th floor hallway smelled bad (kind of a cross between musty and burnt plastic) but luckily the room smelled fine. My parents stayed there also in a 5th floor king room, and their room-darkening shades had a number of wear-holes in them. They did call to have them replaced/repaired and got good service.
Breakfast was not included, which I expect in a hotel of this class.

Thank you for staying with us and posting your review. I am sorry you do not feel that the value you received is equal to the price you paid. Because of our location just outside of downtown, we are able to provide a price point that is as much as $150 less than our partners in the Old Port.
While many hotels provide a continental breakfast with the price of the room, our full service restaurant offers both a full hot and cold buffet (with oblates cooked to order) and a number of ala carte items. Our menu prices are competitive with the area restaurants and as breakfast is all you can eat, the value often exceeds the price paid.
