“Trolley Tour outstanding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2014

We took the 90 minute tour of the city that included a visit to the Portland Head Light House. Stated simply, it was outstanding! JJ, our driver and narrator, was knowledgeable, funny and very helpful. We had a wonderful trip and would highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants an interesting and informative overview of Portland.

“Great tour!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2014

The narration was great...historical, cultural, fun information.
Bring a jacket or sweater because once you pass "Bug Light" you'll find it gets windy and chilly. I've taken a few tours as well as the mail boats our of Portland but this was the best.

Thanks for the great review NHPenny! We'll take "best" boat tour in Portland any day! You are right about that temperature dropping once you get out a little ways and we try to let people know that in advance. Once again, thanks so much for taking the time to write this and we're happy you enjoyed the tour.

“Worth doing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2014

I took the Portland City and Lighthouse Tour.

It's a 105 minute narrated trolley tour and you stay onboard the whole time only getting off at the end at the lighthouse.

You do get to stretch your legs at the Cape Elizabeth Lighthouse, which is lovely.

“Must Do for Newbies”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2014

This was our favorite activity while we were in Portland. We are from the southwest and hadn't ever been to the northeast, so getting out into the water and seeing the islands and lighthouses up close was the best. The guide was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Take a jacket, it can get chilly and windy out on the water.

“MUST SEE! Take the tour by land and by sea - both are amazing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2014

We booked the combination "Land and Sea" tour, which included a 105 minute trolley tour of Portland and then a 90 minute boat ride around the Portland coastline, with views of the gorgeous lighthouses and islands that surround Portland. These 2 tours were easily the highlight of our entire trip. The only thing more charming than riding around town in a trolley was the trolley driver himself! A good tour guide really makes or breaks a tour and our tour guide definitely made ours a wonderful experience. :) And on a hot summer day, there's nothing more refreshing than boarding the tour boat and cruising the coastline with the cool summer breeze blowing through your hair! These 2 tours cover just about anything and everything you could want to see or know about Portland. I really can't sing their praises enough. I HIGHLY recommend these to anyone visiting Portland.

Wow, thanks Danielle! Hard to find a nicer recommendation than that and we really appreciate the kind words! Looking at your photos, I think your driver may have been Bramps (Roy) and I'll make sure he sees your nice review. We're so happy we could give you a pleasant time in Portland and thanks once again for writing this.
