“Love the Old Port”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2014 via mobile

My wife and I spent a couple nights in the Old Port. We love walking along Commercial street. Lots of cool old buildings, unique stores and restaurants.

“Beautiful Waterfront”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2014

Lots of touristy seafood restaurants, but go when weather's sunny, not rainy, as tour boast line the waterfront...

“Not Geared for Visitors”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2014

Although there are many great restaurants and nice shops--this city is not geared for visitors.
I visited during the afternoon of July 3 and found some shops had closed early for the holiday. Many had signs saying they would be closed on July 4.

All the stores have different opening and closing times.

I am mystified that a city that seems to want to cater to tourists with cruise ships making stops , new hotels and Amtrak offering service from Boston does n't make more of a coordinated effort to get visitors to stay and spend.

“Lots to do”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2014

Plenty of eating, drinking, and shopping on this street. There are some boat tours which go out in the evening. Very walk able, watch for the guys flagging you down to park it's a reasonable $5.00

“Lots to see and do”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2014

There are many interesting shops if you are into shopping, and many restaurants. It is also the place for catching boat cruises including the Costco Bay Ferry and other tourism boats. The drawback is that it is very congested and parking is a problem and/or quite expensive.
