To the Manager;
We recently planned a trip to Portland from Bridgton, where we operate an inn year round, to visit your restaurant. Our dinner with you was to have been a celebration with our adult son. Planning an evening out of the inn is rare and we were very excited to finally get a chance to enjoy your restaurant. We even read the menu off your website during the 1-hour trip down to Portland that evening.
Your listing in the Portland Press Herald's Food & Dining section and your website both said you serve dinner on Mondays. Well, you can imaging how very disappointed we were to arrive on a very rainy Monday a couple of weeks ago to find that your doors were locked up tight as a drum, although all of the lights were on and there appeared to be some employees inside. Well, we thought, maybe there's another entrance, but no, it was clear your were locked up. Upon calling from the rainy street, we were told that you were closed Sunday and Monday with no apology or apparent concern. So, back to the car we went for the 1 hour trip home. How disappointing!
In the past we've not hesitated to recommend your restaurant to our guests, most of whom love going to the city for dinner. At this point however, we're very reluctant to recommend your place and to try to plan a visit ourselves. Sincerely, .....
