“Worth the drive”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2012

I read about this place on TripAdvisor before we went to Maine. We were planning to drive south along the coast and I wanted to get into some of the smaller towns. I saw the rave reviews, so I decided we'd direct our journey along the coast by way of Port Clyde. It was well worth it. The lobster roll was generous in size and delicious. The crab roll was fantastic. Per the woman behind the counter, the locals order crab and the tourists order lobster. We were happy with both. My kids had a hot dog and chicken tenders. The onion rings were light and crispy. This may sound silly, but even the port-a-potty was nice (as much as they can be) - it may have just been emptied, but it smelled reasonable and my 2.5 year old actually went in it (a first). They did have an actual sink with soap and warm water outside for hand washing too.

“Just so good!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2012

We had their daily specials, which today were a grilled cheese and lobster sandwich with fries and two haddock soft tacos with slaw and onion rings (the rings were a $1 upgrade). Everything was freshly made, absolutely delicious, and those onion rings are perfection! What a find! Just the thing to fortify yourself with before or after a trip to the beach. Highly recommend Doug's!

“Mountain of Lobster Meat ...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2012

We found this little place by accident, while searching for authentic fishing villages in the Maine countryside. What a score! My wife ordered a large crab roll & I ordered a large lobster roll. Both were served in extra large, toasted buns & were overflowing with fresh crab and lobster. My lobster roll had a mountain of huge chunks of lobster meat.....AWESOME!
If you want humongous portions of "right off the boat" fresh seafood for cheap prices then stop by Doug's. The surrounding area is dotted with quaint fishing villages & beautiful bay views, far enough away from the hustle & bustle of Rockland.

“Simply the Best -but closed for the season”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2011

I can't wait for Doug's Seafood to open again this spring. I think they said it would re-open on Memorial Day. If you love the freshest of seafood then you should try Doug's.
