“Wonderful mother-daughter trip!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

We stayed at the Inn for a few nights in August 2013. We had a lovely room called the Outer Green Island Suite and it was very quiet. IT was great to have a coffee maker and refrigerator. The staff was wonderful to us and the food was great! We loved exploring the island in our rented gold cart, that was a great idea! I spent many summers on Peaks Island as a child since we owned a home there. It was wonderful to return after 20 plus years and see the Island is so charming and thriving! Would love to return and stay at the Inn!

After getting off the ferry on the short trip over from Portland we were inspired by the impressive crowd that was dining and drinking at our new residence for 1 night's stay. It is located very close to the water and it is so charming. The location is fantastic!
The staff greeted us quickly and made us feel so welcome. Matt was great!
We had a large group of female friends (7) and were shown to the 3rd floor. It was awesome! Several bedrooms were very comfy and it also had a sitting area with a small stocked fridge. It couldn't have been cleaner or more comfortable.
We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay and had a great time exporing the cute island shops.

It was supposed to be our romantic getaway for our 20th Anniversary, to Peaks Island, ME. The weather was horribly cold and rainy the whole time we were there. So we spent most of the time in our suite. Wanting to be romantic, we tried to light the (electric) fireplace but it didn't work. When we mentioned it to them the next morning, they said they'd be up to light the pilot in a few minutes. They never came. The whirlpool tub also didn't work! So we decided to snuggle on the couch and watch a movie. The couch had huge holes in it, which at this point was kind of funny! When we finally went to bed, the bed was so hard, you could bounce a quarter off it! Both of us had very sore backs in the morning! Also, we were under the impression that they offered a continental breakfast (at least), but no. Their restaraunt wasn't even open for breakfast!!!

For $230 a night, we were NOT impressed at all!!!

Just returned from a girls weekend at the Inn. We told them ahead of time there would be three people in each room. When we arrived there were towels for only two. While using the bathroom we noticed the drain of the tub was covered by hair. We asked for more towels but they never came. They were quick to clean the hair out of the tub. We would expect this at some low priced chain hotel but certainly not at a place that charges as much as this inn does.
The restaurant had good food but was a bit over priced. The wait staff was wonderful!!

Room Tip: Do not try to sleep 3 to a room, the pull out sofa had broken springs and was not very comfortable.

We booked the Inn for my daughter's wedding. The staff was superb during the wedding; right at hand for any issue without being obtrusive.

The wedding party booked all the rooms in the Inn for the weekend. Each room was clean and beautifully appointed. The third floor of the Inn features a 'spa' which is really just a spot for hair and makeup. But it was great to have this spot available for the off island hairdressers to use.

Loved the idea if staying on the island, and we did enjoy exploring Peak Island, but the room was pretty plain, and the balcony was not very usable. The pub and food were fine, but not worth the price of staying in the hotel. My wife and I are craft beer nuts, and the only reason we wanted to stay at the Inn was their claim to be brewing shipyard ales in the basement. We were very disappointed to learn on arrival that not only were they not brewing on site, they haven't done so in 8 months! I think this is unacceptable! They still advertise the onsite brewing, and I suspect (from our conversations with staff) that they still are not.

My fiance took me to Peaks for the first time in June 2011 for our anniversary (his family owns property on the island, and he has been visiting the island since he was a child). Note, we were not engaged at that point- he proposed while we were on the island. The trip would not have been the same without the Inn on Peaks, they were incredibly accommodating- they worked with him to set up a sunset dinner on the balcony (not something they normally do, but they were willing to go out of their way so that he could propose there). When plans changed, and he decided to propose elsewhere (out by Spar Cove), they were quick to make changes to the plans, and when we returned, I was warmly greeted and congratulated by most of the staff! We ended the evening with a candle lit dinner at sunset overlooking Casco Bay. Thank you to the Inn on Peaks Island for making my fiance's proposal to me one of the most amazing days of my life!!!

By the way- for travelers, the inn is beautiful, cozy, and the food is great. Only downside is I assume it gets noisy during high season, as it is right up front, and you can hear the ferry all (or most of the night). I didn't mind, and because it is down front, you have the shops and other restaurants right there (very convenient).

I am sorry I didn't get to review this until almost 2 years later, and in order to do so, I posted the date of the visit in June of last year instead of June 2011 (sorry- I figured you wouldn't mind though!)
