On the map it appears that the Beachwood is right across from the Amtrak station, but since the tracks are fenced, you have to walk a ways to find access to cross the tracks to get to the hotel - thru the congested part of town is about 3/4 mile.

This is not a hotel for a single person or couple looking to relax - it's a hotel for families with kids, partying 20-somethings and smokers - I think I was the only non-smoker there.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are disappointed that we didn’t live up to your expectations, and wish that we could have served you better. We do appreciate your comments, and will use them to make improvements for future guests. We would like to clarify some of your points, at least from our perspective, since our team works very hard to ensure that our guests enjoy their stay.

We are about 1/3 of a mile (walking distance) from the Amtrak station. On a map it does look closer, but you have to walk the streets to get to our property. Google Maps says that it’s a 6 minute walk. We never intend to mislead anyone about our proximity to the station.

We do love families with kids, but we have a very good history with couples as well. We do not target partying 20-somethings or smokers (or even large groups for that matter) and regret that you were left with that impression. In fact we have a very strict quiet time policy and do not allow smoking if it is bothering anyone or around children. All of our rooms are Non Smoking.

We apologize for failing to meet your expectations. We will review what happened in detail with staff so that we can correct what went wrong.

Sincerely,
John & Shannon Cloutier

My friends and I stayed off season, but we had a great time. The location is excellent. It's right on the beach, perfect walking distance to the Pier, and right next to the Palace Playland. The rooms were very clean and modern. They have a little kitchenette, which was really helpful. We had 5 people in our room - I wouldn't suggest any more as we had just enough room (with one person having to sleep on the floor). Check-in was easy and the staff was very friendly. The pool and hot tubs were clean and relaxing. I would highly recommend!

My husband and I stayed for a Saturday night in May. The room was like a studio with a small kitchenette. Check in was easy and fast. The rooms are super clean and the furniture is cute. The hotel is right on the beach and walking distance to everything. The hotel offers beach chairs and grills. We went next door to the Brunsick for dinner Saturday night. The food was fine standard pub fare with great wait staff and live music. I would go back.

Room Tip: Off season for great rates

This was my first time staying here , my fiancée and myself stayed here for two nights..This is simply the best motel on old orchard that I have ever stayed at. My fiancée kept saying how this motel reminded him of a resort stay..We loved this place and will recommend it and have recommended it to our family and friends..The woman at the front desk was very sweet and always had a smile on her face when ever I walked in to the front office..This place is so close to everything and I can see why they sell out well ahead of summer!!!

We were on a trip visiting colleges in the Northeast, and were slated to go to Boston College on Tuesday the 23rd. Needless to say, we had to reschedule quickly and found ourselves with nowhere to stay that night. I found the Beachwood on the Tripadvisor app and was able to book a room. It was absolutely perfect. The owner was so friendly and welcoming, and upgraded us to the second floor corner room, with a view of the ocean. The room was super clean and very updated, with a small kitchenette that included a granite counter and slate backsplash. They had a heated pool (the air was a bit too chilly for us for that) and two large and clean hot tubs that we did use. I am sure the area gets very crowded in the high season but if the experience we had was anything to go by, the Beachwood is well worth the visit - we are planning to go back for sure!

Love the Beachwood!!! Hands down the best Motel in OOB!! The rooms are spacious and CLEAN with beautiful new decor. Great family hotel. We have stayed there the last few summers and we have already booked again for this August. Great central location steps away from the park and not to mention spectacular view of the Thursday night fireworks. I can't say enough about how wonderful the staff is and the family that runs it.
