“Delicious!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013

Jumpin Jakes in Old Orchard Beach is THE place to go! They have daily drink specials, and the food is FRESH FRESH FRESH!
Our friends joined us last night for dinner, and from beginning to end it was TOP NOTCH!
We shared the mussels in garlic with crusty warm bread and practically licked the bowl!
We had entrees that included a grilled chicken and mixed berry salad with citrus dressing (healthy delicious!) Baked scallops that were tender and yummy, baked haddock, crabmeat and avacado salad and mixed berry cheesecake- the waitress was pleasant and professional, all of the wonderful paintings displayed in the restaurant were painted by the owner, Rick Payette, and you have to see them to appreciate them! Plenty of FREE parking and reasonably priced, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal in OOB! Even though it not a beach view, the place is tops!!!

“Perfect atmosphere and amazing food after a beautiful beach day.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013

Went on vacation to old orchard beach for the weekend. Had amazing weather could not ask for better. Treated the family to a nice sit down restaurant. Didn't want seafood but the crew insisted. So we found a nice place called Jumpin jakes. The atmosphere was great for the family. Tey ha a little bit of everything a take out window with ice cream on the way out and a very nice fish market. We were welcomed and serve by great staff. But most importantly amazing food. They have so many options and of corse dishes that are not seafood as well. Definitely would recommend this place to family and friends. Be back next year!!

“Great Maine experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013

When you think of Old orchard beach you think of fries , fried dough , and pizza slices . But just a mile away from the beach my family and I stumbled upon a great place that had something for everyone . What made us pull in were the very colorful decorations outside , birdshouses , big green fish , and colorful wicker chairs in the yard to sit on . They have a fresh fish market on one side of the building where the kids could look at live lobsters in their huge tank , a take-out window and lots of picnic tables to eat at . You can buy lobsters in the market for $ 4.99 a lb and they sell you a little kit to eat them with with butter and crackers for only $ 4.00 . We ate outside and the kids had pizza and chicken fingers ( home made ) They told me they sell nothing from a box here / we checked out the dining room on our way to the bathrooms and they had a lot of really cool 50s lamps , very colorful booths and decorations and lots of artwork aparently by one of the owners . The menu inside was very unexpected , the chef is also one of the owners he came out and told us all about lobsters and where the fish comes from the specials that night had grilled tequila chicken with jasmine rice and fresh fruit salsa and baked haddock nantucket with tomato bacon and swiss cheese , definately not fried dough . We had a great time there and will go back again when we come up . We had the outdoor lobster experience and we want to try the inside menu next time . All in all the best restaurant I have been to in Old orchard beach for sure .

“Lobster, hotdog, hamburger for six!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013

We - a three-generation family - went to dinner at Jumping Jakes because all restaurants we had gone to previously were closed on Mondays. We were greeted by friendly hostess/server who assured us that we would be well taken care of. She was right. Our two-year old had a hamburger with fries, the seven-year old had a hotdog, and we four adults had lobsters. The $3 margaritas were good, and the lobsters were steamed and delicious. The children were kept happy with plenty of crayons and colouring books. It was a good experience for a family outing on a night when most other restaurants were closed. An 18% tip was added to the bill which came to $142.
