“Family Camping at Old Orchard Beach, Maine”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2014

Campground was very clean and well maintained. Constantly seeing staff picking up trash and washing the bathrooms. Good location, about a mile and half from the beach. There is a trolley but it costs money each way. I have a large family so it was cheaper to drive in and pay to park. Sites are tiny! Not much room to put up the camper/tent and still park your vehicle. Neighbors are right there, no tree boundaries. Enforced quiet hours also means no fires, seemed a little constrained. Was a decent campground but we won't be returning. Will stay a little further out and pay less for more room and freedom.

Thank you for staying with us, Brian. We are happy to hear that you found our facilities to be clean and well maintained. Being so close to downtown Old Orchard Beach, we understand we are very different than the state park camping experience, for example. If you do decide to return to Old Orchard Beach, may we suggest our sister campground, Hid'n Pines Family Campground?

After staying at Bailey's Campground last year and not liking it at all due to the large amount of people and traffic plus the lack of staff presence and enforcement of rules, we decided to stay at the Powderhorn with my cousin's recommendation. We are so happy and thankful that we did! My kids could ride their bikes, people were courteous, the park was clean and very well kept. It wasn't so busy that my kids couldn't ride their bikes or I felt they would be unsafe. Our site was large enough and we had plenty of space between the sites! We liked it so much we already booked our vacation there for next year! Stay here you won't regret it!

It was clean! I can't tell you how important that is to me, but it was such a beautifully clean facility, and the staff was very friendly and available. We loved our stay and plan to return next year.

Nothing needs to change at Power Horn.... Clean, Safe, Friendly, Affordable and near all fun attractions. This is our 8'th year going to this campground, we look forward to it all year. Not sure that they should change. I see this year they did improvements to make it safe for campers to take the shuttle with a nice sitting area keeping you out of the sun or rain. You will NOT be disappointed if you camp here. Why go anywhere else !!!

Loved how clean the entire campground was, staff is always picking up trash and monitoring bathrooms. Felt like they enforced quiet hours and other rules so everyone knew what to expect. Staff was friendly and I just loved the TROLLEY service to the beach. So easy to get down and back with all your beach gear.

My husband and I have been taking our family to the Powder Horn camping resort for over 20 years. The campground has so many activities for everyone of all ages to enjoy! The staff are very friendly and the campground is extremely clean. It is a wonderful campground for families to enjoy and it is close to Old Orchard Beach. A trolley service is provided to get you to the beach as well.
