“Motel with a water view”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2013 via mobile

We were in this area for a wedding and this was the nicest of the wedding hotel options. As for the positives the room was clean and like the other reviewers have commented the location is beautiful. The negatives were the price of the room, I will admit I am not the bed and breakfast type but I wouldn't have called this place a resort, it was a nice motel. Not a bad stay overall but don't know if it was worth the price.

This was my first visit back in about 3-5 years...The resort is SUPERB ! Have traveled for 40+ years and this place does it right! Quick check-in, the friendliest people around, the resort is in phenomenal shape. The ocean is at your fingertips...Everything you might want or need is just a step or two away. We parked the car and only used it 2x for the theater and to go to Freeport. The restaurant for both breakfast and late lunch was great... Great and the most friendly service by all people concerned.

Room Tip: Rooms on the STARBOARD Side all face the ocean... They now offer KING beds... prior visits they did...

This hotel was great. We stayed across the street in the Lightship building and the rooms were huge and had fireplaces. It was really nice and clean and the people were friendly. We were able to walk to just about everything as well so the location can't be beat. It is located right at the beginning of the matginal way and had plenty of chairs to sit and look out into the ocean too.

Room Tip: The Lightship building is across the street but I would stay there again because the rooms were grea...

I did a lot of research before selecting this hotel and was not disappointed. Our room (175) on the starboard side overlooked the ocean and was worth the extra money. The beds were very comfortable and the room was a decent size, updated, and very clean. We had no complaints. Second floor rooms have the best views of the beach, but note that there are no elevators. The grounds were beautiful and the location just can't be beat. We literally walked 40 steps to the Marginal walkway . Everything that we ordered in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner was very good and every employee we encountered was extremely friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Second floor rooms on the starboard section have the best views of the beach but there are no elevat...

We got a great rate for a large king size room! Comfortable bedding, great location, dated decor but clean. Only thing I can complain about is the carpet in the hallways - it looks like people have spilled bleach on it and it is time to replace it PRONTO.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with an ocean view!

Of course the weather was extraordinary: 25 degrees celcius on the 1,2 and 3 october 2013; cloudless days, light winds. So our stay at the ANCHORAGE was delightfull. The grounds were tastefully dressed up in magnificent autumn artefacts; giant pumkins ,squash, corn stalks, chrysanthemums and many other flowers still in full bloom. The cleanlyness of the parking lot, the lawns and swimming areas was impeccable. Our room on the second floor of "port side" ,close to the end balcony was very comfortable and tidy, the king size bed nice and firm. The food in the restaurant was very good and the personnel attentive.Even if this resort is not directly on the beach, it is immediately on the ocean and the "marginal way"; one can therefore easily walk to the beach and Perkins Cove. Some may find it expensive, but we think it is fully worth the money.

Room Tip: Try to have a room as near the sea as possible, be it on the first or second floor.

The location is fantastic, and the rooms are wonderful. The pool area chairs and the umbrellas on the lawn are snapped up first thing in the morning. My husband had to secure chairs and umbrellas by 7 am. Also the restaurant is just O.K. Except for these few things, the resort is great.

Room Tip: There are only 2 oceanfront suites, so if you want one, you must reserve way in advance. However, t...
