“Above and Beyond our expectations!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

I've stayed in many b and b's and this one was top notch from beginning to end. First, they made a special exception for us doing a midnight check-in. Bruce also personally called me to discuss our room choice after I had sent him an email! Upon check-in, we were shown to our lovely room that had the lights turned on for us. The room was very well appointed with a mini-fridge with water, a keurig and a ton of pods to choose from as well as every kind of sugar/non-sugar and creamers along with 4 coffee mugs. The bed sheets are amazing and they actually sell them in the store. They were the same sheets at the Weston Spa in Beaver Creek, CO. Breakfast was served each morning and included eggs, bacon, sausage, french toast, and fruit. The scones were delicious and there were 5 gourmet coffees to choose from. They also sell these in the store! Bruce was at breakfast each morning asking about the previous night, talking about things to do, recommending restaurants etc...He's wonderful! We also had champagne and chocolate covered strawberries delivered to the room. YUM!
The inn is directly in the center of town, perched up this steep driveway, overlooking the town center and you can see the ocean in the background. At the bottom of the driveway is the Maine gay bar which is in the perfect location for those who want to dance or do karaoke. You literally can stumble out of the bar and up the hill. LOL The little shops in town were really cute and the people who owned them were so friendly. A lot nicer than most in Provincetown. The people here seemed more down to earth than in other diverse towns. Every place that Bruce sent us turned out to be absolutely wonderful. Including all of the outlet stores in Kittery. BTW- check out the Kittery Trading Post! The have everything there from Northface to fishing poles!
There is one thing you should be aware of. We were in room 17. If you are a light sleeper, you shouldn't pick this room. Every morning around 7 a.m., the house staff begins to prepare breakfast and you can hear every cupboard door shut, voices, clinking etc. It's the only negative about our stay. We absolutely loved it here. Definitely going back and will tell all of our friends about the inn.

Room Tip: Not room 17 if you're a light sleeper.

A wonderful last-minute getaway to Ogunquit. And you can't get much closer to the center of town than the 2 Village Square Inn. Beautifully renovated, but still holds its original charm. It was relaxing, quiet, and had a gorgeous view of town from its hilltop location. Bruce was a fantastic host-- he tended to our every need (including arranging a taxi for us on a snowy night) and I can see why people look to come back here. My only regret was not knowing about the massage room they have on premise in advance. Breakfast was delicious and served in a relaxed setting. The only thing that caused a little stress was the steep driveway which we had to navigate by car on a snowy night. That said, the inn made sure it was clear, and the view you get over town from being up that high was well worth the climb. Definitely recommend.

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at this inn for 4 nights during the Thanksgiving holiday. We were originally going to stay from Thanksgiving morning thru Sunday but Bruce (one of the owners) called and "made us an offer we couldn't refuse" to come up Wednesday. We accepted and arrived Wednesday evening. This inn is a wonderful place to spend a long weekend. Bruce is a marvelous host. If you need him, he is right there to answer any questions or to accommodate you as best as he could. If you want quiet, he leaves you be even though he could be in the same room.

Breakfast was incredible every morning. All you can eat (and I got my money's worth!) of a wide variety of foods. Each day something different. The rooms nicely appointed and very clean. A fantastic all season outdoor hot tub and very comfortable common areas.

The inn's proximity to town, the ocean and the Marginal Way also make this a must place to stay while you are viiting this area. We look forward to returning someday!

I've reviewed Bruce and Scott's properties before, but I just have to say, they have spoiled us from traveling anywhere else. Every time my birthday, my wife's birthday, or another special weekend comes up, we look around, thinking we'll go somewhere else in Maine, the Cape, NH, RI, but we keep coming "home" to 2 Village Square. There is something about Bruce's warmth, the amazing breakfasts, the luxurious pool and hot tub (seasonal), the cool people who stay there over and over, and the great deal that draws us in. There are very minor things we'd change: the light switch in some bathrooms is linked to a loud fan so you have to hear the loud fan whenever the light is on, and some rooms at the front have very light traffic noise. But in the end, no place is PERFECT. All that being said, 2 Village Square is about as close as you can get. For the prices they charge, the amenities they offer, and the love you receive onsite, there's really no better place to stay. WE LOVE IT!

My husband and I decided to take a quiet weekend getaway in Ogunquit this past weekend. We searched endlessly for bed and breakfasts in the area before FINALLY stumbling upon this one. The rates were the lowest, the photos gave the best impression, and our email correspondence with the innkeeper prior to our arrival had us hopeful about our weekend.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by Bruce who made us feel welcome immediately. He told us about the town, illustrated some points of interest, and gave a tour of the inn's common areas. Since it was a slow weekend in the off-season, Bruce kindly gave us a choice of several rooms that upgraded our stay. Bruce also informed us of several dining packages for area restaurants, made suggestions for places to eat and visit, and even offered to make dinner reservations for us!

The warm, neutral decor is absolutely beautiful and the finishing touches pushed this inn right over the edge -- Lindt chocolate truffles on the pillows, Keurig coffee makers in every room, in addition to tea, hot chocolate and cider available anytime. The beds are amazingly comfortable, the black-out blinds are conducive to sleepy weekend mornings...and the towels have got to be the most lush we've ever experienced. There is also a HUGE DVD library for guest use!

The buffet-style breakfast each morning was wonderful -- homemade scones (there are no words to properly describe the white chocolate raspberry ones!), delicious blueberry pancakes, sausage, bacon, home fries and fresh fruit salad. There is no skimping here!! What a great way to start the day!

The hot tub at this inn does not run in the off-season but Bruce graciously extended the option to visit the year-round hot tub at their sister inn just a few doors down. We were able to take advantage of this and we were thoroughly pleased with the accommodation.

We don't get a chance to get away often and when we do, we're often disappointed with the experience. We've been home for two days and are still talking about our time at 2 Village Square. We've shared our glowing reviews with friends and family -- and certainly plan to return VERY soon. Bruce has found his calling in the hospitality field, as we've not come across someone so genuinely pleasant and kind-hearted in a long time. A ray of sunshine!

We highly recommend this inn to anyone looking for a 5 star experience in a down-to-earth, relaxing atmosphere. Our rating is an A+ on all fronts!! THANK YOU!!

Room Tip: We stayed in King Eleven and it was a quiet room on the 3rd floor -- highly recommend!

We have been staying at 2V for the past two years for most of our special occasions. Each stay is better than the last. Bruce is so welcoming and hospitable. The breakfasts are absolutely delicious and the location couldn't be better. We can't wait to return!

Room Tip: Room 10 has amazing views.
