“Harmony in Ogunquit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013 via mobile

My husband and recently traveled for a business trip and discovered the Dragon Fly upon the suggestion of another local merchant. We were so delighted that it was everything we had hoped for in a B and B,
We needed a calm relaxing and quiet environment which was exactly what we experienced . I had a wonderful massage in
the morning by David prior to my interview .
Charles and David are wonderful hosts and with the short time they have owned the Dragon Fly they really have it down to a science . Our suite the Star was like s mini apartment with a living room and full kitchen and bathroom. We loved the wood burning fireplace and Charles each day made sure we had plenty of logs . Our bed was very comfortable and we loved the plush robes and linens .
Cooper the house brown Lab met us each morning at breakfast to get his hugs. We loved the way he stretched out in front of the fire each morning in the Great Room!
Breakfast was a buffet and we really enjoyed a different baked specialty each morning as well as great Greek yougerts and homemade granola .
We hope to return to Ogunquit and will definitely recommend the Dragon Fly to anyone we know that is traveling in that direction to enjoy the lovely coastline and location of this bed and breakfast .

My husband and I stayed at this wonderful B&B in February and again in March and we can't wait to go back. We are not fans of B&B but it was recommended by a friend. What a wonderful relaxing lovely place. The owners Charles and David are just the best and after two stays consider them friends. Breakfast is wonderful great coffee and the rooms tasteful and immaculate. The suite is fabulous and can certainly see us staying for a week there in the summer/fall season no problem. We have been going to Ogunquit for many many years stayed allot of places......this place is the best!

Great B&B. Location is halfway between Perkins Cove and "downtown" making it a perfect spot to stay. David and Charles were great, beyond helpful and friendly. I ask a million questions and can be annoying and they answered everyone of them without getting annoyed. Cant say enough about them, they were so nice. Have a glass of wine in front of the fireplace at night was great way to unwind. Felt like we were at a family members house in Maine or like we been there before. Very comfortable and just had an all around welcoming feeling. Will definitely stay again.

My wife and I decided we needed to get away and explore Maine and we chose Ogunquit for it's location by the ocean and the picturesque town. Looking through the list of places to stay, we saw the Dragonfly Guest House and it looked perfect, immaculate and tastefully done. We met Charles, (David was away) and of course Cooper and were made to feel very welcome. We arrived in mid-December; it had snowed that day, which was lovely. The town was quiet at this time of year, but we knew (and hoped) it would be. We really enjoyed walking the Marginal Way and poking around Perkins Cove (both within a few minutes walk) before heading further afield to Kennebunkport.

The Dragonfly Guest House was the perfect base for all that we wanted to do. Our room was the Star Suite and it was everything we hoped, enough room to spread out and a home away from home. When we travel, we're out most of the time and although we enjoy doing the research and eating at different restaurants, it was lovely just to stay in one night, grab some pizza and chill in our own living room under a blanket and by the fire with some wine and dessert. Our room afforded us this luxury, and we also sneaked a peak at the other rooms and all without exception were a great size and beautifully decorated.

Breakfast was wonderful, Charles is a great cook and a lovely guy, his mini omelettes were just one item that I remember, but there's a great selection every day so you will not go hungry. Visiting and staying at the Dragonfly Guest House for a couple of nights, this was the most relaxing part of our US trip, we felt refreshed and were happy to just come and go while we were there. Charles was a great host and did everything he could to make our stay perfect and would recommend his favourite restaurants nearby. There's even a great French restaurant literally next door, but this was closed when we visited.

With the Dragonfly Guest House's close proximity to Perkins Cove and the Marginal Way and all that Ogunquit has to offer, look no further, this is the perfect place to stay.

Room Tip: The Star Suite is wonderful, a lovely bedroom, wooden floors, a full kitchen and living room. There...

What a comfortably sanctuary--warm hosts, great breakfasts and utterly "unfusty." Charles and David were fun and gracious, the pumpkin pancakes were excellent, and the location terrific, halfway down Shore Road and an easy walk to the Marginal Way, Perkins Cove, the Beach and down town. All of the rooms were immaculate and freshly painted and the living room welcoming and warm. We'll be back!

Every detail was accommodated by the wonderful inn Keepers, Charles and David. This was my birthday present to my sweetheart, Peter. A massage, choice of rooms, fabulous, endless breakfast the next morning. And did I mention the "Happy Birthday" balloon and sinful chocolates left at our door for when we came back from dinner?????
Oh, and then the ability to walk Marginal way to Perkins Cove and then back to the Inn all the while leaving our bags there was just the topper to a wonderful get away.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Blue Sky room even though the weather was too chilly for enjoying the second floor...

Charles and David were great hosts! We loved the house and the breakfasts and we had a super time and look forward to going back soon...and their dog is so cute too! We went in the winter and saw the Xmas parade and it was a great time to go even though it was off-season.
