“Great time at Pink Blossoms”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2008

Lucky us! After my husband's passport failed to show up in time for our planned trip to Montreal, we scrambled at the last minute to find a new place to go and ended up at the Pink Blossoms in Ogunquit.

We stayed in one of the two-bedrooms suites. There are two kinds - one with two completely private rooms that is small with no deck or patio, or the one we stayed in which is a bit bigger and three levels, but the bedroom on the top does not have an actual door.

So, you walk in to the living room which has a sofa bed, TV/VCR, and table with four chairs. Further back is the kitchenette which has a hotplate and all the necessary dining accoutrement (plates, dishes, pots, pans, wine opener, dish towels, etc). The bathroom has towels but not complimentary items except a single bar of soap, so keep that in mind--bring all your usual shower and bathroom sundries.

Directly above the living room is the door-less room, which has a king-size bed, TV, and private deck. Below the living room is a very large room with two queen-size beds and a TV.

I am describing the room in such detail because the website is oddly lacking in pictures. The decorations are cute albeit a bit too cutesy on the "blossoms" theme. Still, the beds and couch were very comfortable, the shower ran hot and strong so that was fine. The only thing is that the walls are very thin and I could hear our neighbors having a very late party. But in terms of the other couple we were traveling with the two levels between our bedrooms meant we felt comfortably private when retiring for the evening.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. When I called to book they gave me a detailed description of the two kinds of two-bedroom suites so I would feel comfortable with my choice. I greatly appreciated their patience and thoroughness.

The hotel is located perfectly in Ogunquit. It's about a ten minute walk each way to Perkin's Cove and to the downtown area. Very, very easy to get to the beach, the Marginal Way, and all the restaurants and shops.

I would absolutely recommend staying here. The price is incredibly affordable and you get a comfortable room at a place with friendly staff that's located perfectly in the middle of everything.

Every September since 1999 my husband and I visit Ogunquit and stay at our favorite motel- Pink Blossoms Resort. The owner and staff are very friendly, most accommodating, and always give us the same studio room on the first floor next to the ramp with its own parking space. This arrangement is perfect for us since my husband has limited mobility.

The room is very spacious, very clean, beautifully decorated, and includes a microwave, fridge, and a comfortable dining area. We usually bring our own provisions and eat our breakfast and lunch in the room. Coffee is provided at the office each day.

The grounds are well- maintained and include lovely flowers each season. It is a pleasure to sit outside amid such peaceful surroundings.

Great location. Short proximity into town, Marginal Way, and Perkins Cove. Book lovers will appreciate that Ogunquit Free Library is located right next door.

Highly recommended.

I stayed at Pink Blossoms a couple of times years ago. It changed ownership in May, perhaps this has something to do with the way it is being run now. My mother and I stayed here in mid September for three nights, Wed through Sat. On the first night (and day) we had 2 small children running overhead and up and down the stairs of their suite, and opening and closing a sliding door. This went on from about 6:45 AM to after 10 or 11 nightly. We complained Thursday morning the young man in charge at the office asked if we would be open to moving rooms and we said yes. We never heard back from him, and the next day we complained again. He then said that he had called their room(after originally calling the wrong room, because apparently he didn't even know what the room # was over ours) and that they said they would try to make less noise. Needless to say that didn't happen (if indeed he ever did really call)-our room was also never moved. To add insult to injury, when that family checked out Fri they stuck us with one more small child overhead who did the same thing. I wanted to leave after Wed but my mother was convinced that they would not refund her prepaid bill, as stated in their policy. I don't care what the policy is, when a customer is that dissatisfied a business owes them something. A hotel owes you reasonably quiet enjoyment of your room. If we had been moved and had little or no noise we would have been satisfied. It got so bad that by Friday night I wanted to sleep in our car, or on a bench on the Marginal Way.

When we checked out Sat we went to the front desk to complain and to ask for some compensation for our miserable experience. The off site manager was contacted by phone (we never saw or spoke to this person directly, don't know who or where they were) and we were then told no. They acted like they had done us a favor by letting us stay there when they had done nothing to accommodate us-that's why hotels are called accommodations. The customer service skills of the employees are quite poor. You'd think with all the hotel competition in Oqunquit that they would want to maintain a loyal customer base and good word of mouth. Their treatment of us indicated otherwise.

We chose Pink Blossoms mainly for the price-to save money we got a 1 bedroom and I slept on the pullout sofa. The linens for it were gross-old and had holes and were like sandpaper. The towels were awful as well. The tv in the bedroom was ancient and tiny, and the tv in the living area was so old that it had a built in VCR. The room was generally clean in spite of its' outdated decor, the housekeeping does a good job there but that's about all I can say that's positive.

Oqunquit is a beautiful place to visit but choose your hotel wisely.

  • Liked — near the Marginal Way
  • Disliked — the noise, the failure to do anything to rectify the situation and to satisfy us

We were booked, according to our reservation, at 154 Shore drive but upon arrival were told our room was further up the street at their other property. We checked in and were told we could unload our car in front of the office, then carry our luggage across Shore Drive and up the steps to our room, then go back and move the car behind the office for parking. We knew there could be stairs involved, but this was just too much. So unless you like exercise and carrying luggage way too far make sure you room isn't in the "old" building. Also the ice machine is quite a hike. Room was clean but very cramped.

These guests booked through a third-party online reservation service, not with us directly. Their confirmation lists our location as 154 Shore Road (which is where our main office is located). However, as can be discerned from our website or by a call to our office, we actually have 5 different locations, 2 at 154 Shore Road and others at 210, 214 and 221 Shore Road. Had this guest decided to book with us directly (or called us for information after making their reservation) they would have been told which building they were staying in and details specific to that building.

The room they stayed in is in our Inn Suites location which is a renovated Victorian style home built at the close of the 20th century. The building was unfortunately built before parking was an issue and there is no space on that side of the property to park even a single car. Therefore, we make sure to tell all guests staying in that building that they will have to cross Shore Road in order to access the parking. However, if we never speak to a guest and are not given any contact details (as is usually the case with people booking through Travelocity, Expedia, etc) there is no way for us to give the guest any information about the property at which their room will be located.

I am quite sorry these guests found the ice machine to be too far away (again, directly across the street) but their room, just like all of our other rooms, has a kitchenette which includes a standard size refrigerator/freezer with ice in it when they arrive. As far as room size, I do not think that our one bedroom units are any smaller than the standard bedroom and front room would be in the average home. If a guest was concerned about space I would recommend booking a larger unit such as a two bedroom unit, a one bedroom duplex unit or even our four bedroom house if the party was large enough for that to make sense.

Finally, I encourage all of our guests to contact us via e-mail or phone if they have any questions or concerns about the room they have reserved. This allows us to answer questions and make changes before the guest arrives, making their stay smoother once they are here.

We stayed in one of the two bedroom suites for a bachlorette party. It was a great location. It is about equal distances to Perkins Cove and to Downtown and the Beach. The room was a great size. It was spacious and the kitchen was key. We ended up in a room without a patio or balcony which was disappointing but there were plenty of other areas on site to enjoy sitting outside. It was also very reasonably priced. The staff was helpful in suggesting sites and restaurants.

  • Liked — It was very resonably priced. The room was great.

This was an adorable little inn. We booked the room through travelocity for only one night at the last minute. It was spotlessly clean and very cute. Close to but not on the beach and the downtown shops area. Our only regret is that we didnt stay a little longer, and someday we hope to return for a longer visit. Its a great choice in Ogunquit if you dont need to be right on the beach or right down in the shops area.
