The Neptune Inn is all about location. It is just steps away from the nicest beach in Maine. My family has stayed at both of the beach front hotels in Ogunquit and the Neptune is not as nice or modern as the competitor the Norseman, but it is cheaper in cost and the woman who ran the place was much kinder than her competitor. The Neptune is dated to say the least, and the bed there was flatly horrible, but the place was clean and the people working there, friendly and accommodating. Additionally, while this may seem counter intuitive, the parking for the hotel is in the public lot across the street. By having to park in the public lot, we were able to get in a full day after checkout from the hotel. If you stayed at the competition, your car needed to be out of their lot by 11 am, and then if you want to stay the day you will need to pay another $15 to park in the public lot. The beach front hotels are just a short walk to the downtown for dinner, but much quieter at night for sleeping. This place is not the Ritz but if you want to be right on the beach it is the place to be for a reasonable price.
