“Very pleasant - homey and quaint”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

Driving by looking for a place to lodge for the night, the exterior just said that the owner really cares about every detail. Mom and pops can fudge and you expect that -- but not here. We were pleasantly surprised by everything. Friendly owner with no nonsense attitude. This worked for us.

Our room was spotless and the bathroom updated. Obviously no sliding by here. Lots of tchotchkes in the room themed to the season (we were staying in October, so Halloween theme). Although they didn't influence our opinion of our stay, they were a nice touch. Ice machine and free wifi were definite benefits. Clean fluffy towels were especially appreciated and a comfy chair in the room was a nice touch. Our room was in the back so it was especially quiet at night.

Only negative was the multiple reminders to tip the cleaning crew. We typically do, but resent being shamed into it.

In all, a great stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the back - we found it especially quiet.

I recently stayed at the Town Lyne Motel for three days. This is by far the cleanest, best maintained, and most comfortable motel I have ever stayed in. The rooms, the grounds and the staff are all exceptional. Our motel was just like being at home without being there. The owners of this facility are to be commended for their attention to detail, cleanliness and presentation. I would stay there again without hesitation.

Room Tip: Rooms on the back, lower section have access to two gazebos and can enjoy the sounds of the stream a...

Away from the village crowd, right on Main Street, a kilometer away from the beach, nested against a small creek, this motel is not your ordinary motel. It is clean, quiet, the hosts, Brandee and Luke are charming and attentive and the whole facilities is extremely well maintained. It is not luxurious but it is homy and warm. It has all the amenities we needed: little Gazebos to have our breakfast and cocktails, flat screen tvs, unlimited call service to the US and Canada, AC and dehumidifier Wi-fi, fully renovated bathroom, a place to store our bikes, etc.... It doesn't have a pool but so what. I figure that If I drive 550km to swim in the ocean, I shouldn't care about a pool.

Room Tip: I would suggest to ask for a room facing the back, overlooking a little stream. It is very quiet. H...

at the Towne Lyne Motel in Ogunquit, ME. This was the first time my family and I stayed at the Towne Lyne Motel. We usually stayed closer to Perkins Cove on Shore Road. The size of the room was fine for the 3 of us. The room had 2 full size beds...we requested a roll-away for my son. Refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker were in the room with a flat screen TV attached to the wall. Only suggestion would be to put a small shelf below the mirror in the bathroom to place some of your toiletries. The grounds are immaculate...we stayed in the upper level facing the street. They also have a lower level facing the river and 2 gazebos! We will definitely stay there again.

This Motel is set up just like a home with a lot of details in the room. It is very clean and comfortable. Although it doesn't have a pool or free breakfast. There are gazebos in the back facing a small creek where you can eat or just kick back and relax.

We had to change our stay to a day earlier and they let us do so. That was highly appreciated. We came in very late on the first night so they just made arrangements for us. Upon returning to the motel, we got chocolates on our pillow! My daughter was absolutely delighted.

With a car, this motel is quite easy to find. It is along a main road close to town and all sorts of dining options. I highly recommend this place.

Came home to see the Atlantic ocean, family and friends. The motel has lovely lawns, and a river behind it. Inside and out show the finest of care. Rooms are comfortable and very clean with that New England charm. Brandee was so helpful and welcoming. I spent the best part of two weeks there seeing the coast and traveling inland a bit. I'll be returning to this peaceful spot.

Room Tip: The upper level has a lovely view of the lawns.

Got last minute tickets to a show at Ogunquit Playhouse, and came up with my girllfriend for Columbus Day weekend. E-mailed Brandee, the proprietor, a few days before arrival, and she responded within a day, giving us the last room available. The motel is on the Ogunquit-Wells town line (hence the name), away from the hubbub and traffic of Ogunquit but within trollley and walking distance of the beaches, and only a couple miles' drive from the Playhouse.

The Towne Lyne's got a few features that made it better than your average motel. Each room has its own enclosed balcony in back facing the motel's well-maintained lawn. The lawn has little gazebos set out for people to sit, read, or enjoy watching the ducks that swim in the brook that abuts the property. I'm an early riser, and spent an enjoyable Sunday morning sitting on our balcony enjoying the unseasonably warm October weather.

The room had all kinds of little homey touches,-- teddy bear shower curtain, stuffed bear cozy, throw pillow and quilt over two nice rocking chairs with their backs to the front window-- as well as a comfortable bed and modern amenities (coffee maker, hi-def tv with all the channels, free internet connection). Brandee was very helpful with directions to the beaches and other attractions-- and check out her huge smiley-face collection in the office before you go. All in all, this place is a cut above your average motel, and I'd highly recommend giving them a call. At $89 offseason rate, it was a great find.
