Gypsy Sweethearts is a homey, welcoming establishment amid the hustle and bustle of downtown Ogunquit. It is rustic and comfortable with screen porch and outdoor seating. We recently visited with my in-laws. When we made reservations we requested the corner table on the screen porch. Though they could make no promises, we were very pleased when we arrived to find they had honored our request.
The menu doesn't change very much. Though standards are sometimes paired with different sides. On the evening of our visit, we all ordered the Almond Crusted Baked Fillet of Haddock over wilted spinach, the restaurant's standout dish. While it it usually served with Gypsy's irresistible potato gratin, we were disappointed when it arrived with what turned out to be a bland, overcooked risotto. Bring back those spuds!
Service was fine and evenly paced.
Oh, and a real plus; since we were with my husband's elderly parents, the small parking lot in the back of the establishment was a godsend.
