“Pricey but Good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2013 via mobile

Well to start with my wife and I are not lobster eaters. So I can't speak for the lobster. But the other food, Haddock and steak tips were very good. Price for each ran around $18.

Our waitress was outstanding. Ask for Lindsay. Super!

Decor was very nice.

I recommend it.

“Fantastic from beginning to end”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2013

Menu is varied and great. They were able to take care of our party of 6 with no problems. Location is great, and the atmosphere is perfect. Beware, the portion sizes are larger than you'd expect. Absolutely no complaints - a great choice when you visit Ogunquit.

“Very pricey for average food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2013

Dinner at the Lobster Pound, an interesting restaurant (decor) directly on the main road in Ogunquit, is a disappointing experience when viewed in comparison to the other dozens of lobster restaurants in the area. The quality of the food was as good as would be expected, but not special enough to justify the very high prices (dinners were in the $25-35 range without beverage, appetizer or dessert). Our tab for four people with dinner, two appetizers and a beverage for each was $225 including gratuity. We had great lobster dinners at nearby locations for about half that or less.

“Old Time Hospitality”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013

This restaurant dates back over 80 years. The building that houses it looks like its age and IT WORKS. It looks like an old camp dining hall...lots of wood and a huge stone chimney. Nice bar too.

Our meals were all very good. If you are craving lobster tails without the mess f whole lobster, this is your place. If you are looking for fresh whole boiled lobster, this is also your place. They have many other items on the menu from burgers to mac and cheese, pasta dishes, and steak.

The wait staff, hostesses, bussers, and servers were very efficient and very personable.
