“Delicious food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2014

We went for lunch and dinner the following day. Not only was the food tasteful and delicious but the armosphere was pleasant and peaceful. We had a great time. Their bean soup is out of this world. We had a fresh salad with dried fruits, cheese and quinoa that was delicious. The portabella burger was so very tasty and filling and the sweet potatoe waffle fries are outstanding. For dinner we had crab cakes and salmon over pilaf rice that were perfection! Not to mention their sangria and dessert assortment! Their coconut flan and chocolate bomb were mouth watering! We highly recommend it and will definitely stop by next summer!

“What an Awesome Pub”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2014

We loved this pub, We just wished we were staying longer to frequent it more. Carlson, bartending this evening was adorable and very upbeat and personable. The other patrons at the pub all seemed, happy, warm and inviting. Locals and visitors freely talking with each other. They have a great selection of alcohol with a liberal pour. The menu looked absolutely delectable, but unfortunately we had just eaten dinner elsewhere. It's located on Shore Rd, between Perkins Cove and Downtown, and worth the 5-10 min walk, and it you don't want to walk the trolley stops right in front. Roost is right up there for a reason to get back to Ogunquit real soon.

“Great atmosphere and service, but more flavor please!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2014

What a beautiful restaurant and what fabulous service! However, my meal was lacking in flavor. We started with the mussels and caesar salad. The mussels were very tasty, but very tiny. We could have used more sauce, as the shells weren't actually sitting in much broth. The salad eaters commented that the salad could use more dressing. After a bite, I agreed. My pork dish was "mojo" flavored, but had no flavor of seasonings - mojo or otherwise. The pork was very moist and tender, which saved this dish from being a total disaster. The dish was served with sticky, barely flavored white rice. Although, I enjoyed the black beans. My husband had the Bolognese. I really liked the taste of his meal. The gnocchi were nicely seared. However, the sauce tasted more like a meaty vodka sauce, which wasn't what my husband had ordered. The pad thai was not peanutty at all. It was an orangey sauce that was kind of citrusy. The favorite dish of the night seemed to be the salmon. The cocktails were mostly good. I wasn't impressed with the homemade pineapple infused vodka cocktail. However, the espresso martinis were a big hit at our table. The service was excellent - attentive without being intrusive. The atmosphere was very nice and quite romantic for couples. I would like to return in the winter when the fireplaces are lit, and I would give this restaurant another try to see if it was just an "off" night. One last thought: we asked for more bread and were told that they ran out. I find it frustrating to not be able to enjoy more bread when you're spending $300 on a meal for five people. More flavorful meals and a few more items to choose from on the menu and this place could really be great!

“the Roost rules the roost!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2014

My wife and I were looking for a romantic but casual really fine dinner in Ogunquit. That's just what we got at the Roost. The setting is rustic, and totally charming. Even the choice of background music was pleasing and not too loud. Our waitor, Ryan, was attentive and knowledgeable. He took excellent care of us from start to finish. The clam chowder was some of the best we have tasted. The "Catch of the Day" was a cod special with risotto that was extremely delicate, delicious and finely prepared. The flan and decaf cappucino topped off a delightful dinner. We would definitely return!

“Perfect Meal!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2014

We went to Roost for dinner on our first night in Ogunquit and our first meal as an engaged couple, and it was the perfect start to our vacation/celebration! Our waiter was very informative and friendly. We took his suggestions and ordered the two specials - seared scallops with potato gratin and butter poached lobster over homemade bisquits. They were both absolutely delicious! We also had the special chocolate bomb for dessert which was decadent and the perfect ending to a great meal! We also loved the decor and vibe at the restaurant - quaint, comfortable and friendly, but just upscale enough to feel special. We will definitely be back!
