“Great value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2012 via mobile

Last year when visiting Oginquit, ME, we stayed at a lovely hotel Gorges Grant . We heard they had a 'sister' hotel down the road. We looked it up when planning our trip this year. It is very nice, price is really good and we get a little breakfast with this place.

Well, there's not much of a choice due to a long holiday weekend and it was fine for a small town motel. I just wished they upgrade their beds. My back was hurting all throughout our stay there. All in all it wasn't that bad but it wasn't that good either. I missed the continental breakfast so I couldn't say anything about it. The staff are always available, polite and courteous.

This hotel is located a short distance from beach and town. Convinently located. Rooms were very clean and quiet. Decent value. Staff was friendly and helpful. Grounds nicely manicured. Would frequent again.

The minuses would be that the bed pillows were so small & soft, you had to use muliples....And, the towels were very thin (sometimes, clean still felt damp)!! IMHO, the Milestone could use some updating.

The personnel were always very pleasant, helpful & professional.

Room Tip: The Milestone is built on a hill & there were different 'levels' of room locations....so...

From check in to check out, we felt like home.
Pro's - pool, hot tub, fitness center were clean. continental breakfast was a plus with many basic choices. Walking north there are 3-4 restaurants and 2-3 ice scream places within 1 mile north.

Con's- they say 1/4 mile/10 minute walk from the beach, while i didnt check the distance, i would say more like 1/2 mile, 20 minute walk. Distance from town, about a 1 hour walk, but you can take the trolly.

Ogunquit in general appeals to the couples, mostly older, then younger. Our hotel, at least during our weekend in August had maybe 3 or 4 families with kids. So if you are a family with kids under 14, and having other children around interests your kids, i would recommend another hotel

We went to The Milestone during Labour Day with our two daughters, a 4-year old and 1-year old. The hotel met our needs with a good room, good continental breakfast, and a good location. The hotel arranged to add a crib to the room which was great. They also had plenty of towels as well. We arrived late and they had a process for checking us in at the late hour. The hotel is close to the beach (about a 10-minute walk) but not the closest to the town center so we had to drive or take the trolley (the trolley stop is almost in front of the hotel). The pool and the jacuzzi are GREAT and my daughter loved it. The rooms are clean, functional, and comfortable, not on the fancy side though. Overall a good experience.

been here on many occasions,
what keeps me coming back is the are always improving on the property which is already nice
the staff is exceptional, maintenance, landscaping, housekeeping, front desk. they make you feel at home and will meet all your needs, the place is clean and well kept.
my only problem was i could stay longer. the guy running the place dave is a great manager and if you have any issues he will resolve them. the price is fair for the area and the service once again is exceptional

Room Tip: 300s is great view top floor, 200s one story near the pool 100s close to off and 400s and high 300s...
