“The best place in this part of the Maine coast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2010

Juniper Hill Inn has it all - location, facilities, and delightful staff, along with comfortable rooms in a charming setting. In summer, the outdoor pool and whirlpool are a fun place to start or end the day, but there is also an indoor pool, whirlpool and exercise room, so this form of relaxation is always available. Excellent shower, very comfortable beds, and a staff that is helpful and knowledgeable about the area.
The Inn is about 1/2 mile from the center of town, thus perfectly situated for dining, shopping, or going to the beach.
TIP - The Old Village Inn - less than 1/2 mile away - offers exquisite food in a relaxed yet elegant setting. We stay at Juniper Hill often, and try to dine here whenever we can

My husband & I recently visited Ogunquit, ME for labor day weekend. We wanted to take a quiet, relaxing trip for our wedding anniversary over the 3 day weekend. We absolutely LOVED the Juniper Hill Inn. Everyone there was so friendly, and helpful. There was one man who helped us google a bait shop for my husband so he could fish for a little while on Sunday, he really went out of his way to help us. The rooms were large, clean, and comfortable. The toiletries provided are by bath and body works and were lovely. The continental breakfast was really good too, and I liked that throughout the day , even after breakfast was served, coffee, tea, etc was available in the lobby for guests free of charge.

The Inn is also in a great spot. We were able to easily walk to the town area, and to marginal way. It is about a 10 minute walk to Marginal Way from the hotel to the starting point. We then were able to walk the entire marginal way to Perkins Cove, enjoy a lunch out on the water, and walk back to the inn without a problem. Also, the hotel has a path directly to the beack that is great as well.

If you are looking for a quiet, serene getaway, this is your place.

Had a fantastic stay at the Juniper Hill Inn. Not only was the hotel really well located but the room was spacious, clean and the beds extremely comfortable. The staff was really polite and helpful. They recommended 2 great restaurants (Julie's accross the street has amazing pizza!) It was a perfect end to a perfect summer and I will probably return to the Juniper Hill Inn in the fall.

This hotel is in a convenient location to get town and even to walk to the beach, but the rooms leave a lot to be desired.

The room with two queen beds is large, we stayed in the Perkins building. The beds are ancient and mushy, the sheets are almost see through and the comforters have cigarette burns all over.

Even though the bathroom is clean, they actually have a shower mat - more gross and the shower head is so old and doesn't have a cover - so it stings when it sprays.

There is also something where the wood meets the tub of the floor. It is so old that they can't clean it.

supposedly, they have all types of rooms, but this is so outdated.

The value for being very close to the ocean in the high season is fair, but the bathroom and bed really needs to be updated.

The people that work here are really nice, lots of helpful information including tons of menus in the office.

This is best choice if the Anchorage (right on water) is full or too expensive. Nice pool with plenty of chairs. Friendly. Standard continental breakfast. Rooms are clean and standard fare. Would be nice if there was a bar or evening cocktail hour. Three minute walk to downtown. Nice back walkway/path to beach (but bring a cart if you've got kids and a lot of stuff -- it's more than a five minute walk and it's uphill coming back to hotel). Very pleasant experience. Not really an "inn" -- just a motel, but a nice one. My teenage daughter LOVED it here and can't wait to return.

Just got back from a great trip to Juniper Hill. Have 2 little children and loved the big room with 2 queen beds. Lots of extra room for us to move about. The room was clean but nothing too fancy. It was fine though. Very quiet, sink separate from tub, fridge, closet, etc. Outdoor pools very nice. Indoor pool also nice if you get a rainy day. Breakfast nice in a big room. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Location is great. 1/4 mile walk to beach (uphill a bit on way home but our 5 year old was fine with it). It is on route 1 but the main street forks just before the hotel putting Juniper Hill practically on the main drag. Really next door to the beginning of the restaurants and shops. Take trolley to Perkins Cove across street. Just don't go to Oarweed Restaurant in P. Cove. Totally overpriced and tiny portions. Had a good meal at Maxwells Pub sitting outside on their patio. Good for kids but some seafood for the grownups too.
