“Off season oasis”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

A trio of old friends recently spent a very happy few days at the Mariner Resort. We took advantage of a room that included 3 beds, happily sharing the kitchenette and bathroom (which was set up so 1 person could still use the sink even when the tub/shower or toilet were occupied). As everyone else already said, the rooms were very clean, and the staff really friendly. I'm surprised no-one else mentioned how nice the continental breakfast was, including fresh cantaloupe and pineapple, and something home-baked each day. I especially appreciated the abundant towels and pillows available to us (6 bath towels supplied each day, 8 pillows for 3 beds, and another one supplied cheerfully). The walk to footbridge beach is easily done by almost anyone, so don't be put off by the fact that this hotel is not in the center of town. I imagine it's pretty noisy when full, but It was peaceful and quiet when we stayed in mid-October.

Room Tip: The view is gorgeous, so if you can get a room facing the ocean, go for it. We had a 3-bed suite wit...

The place was a little farther away from all the action than we were aware of, but there was a trolly that would take you every where important. The rooms while a little dated were very clean, comfortable and nice size. The bathroom set up was great for two females with the sick in a separate room from the toilet and shower. Made getting ready a breeze. Staff was very helpful with places to go and see. Breakfast was a good mix of breakfast pastries, cereal, yogurt and beverages. Actually stayed an extra night because of the great rate and excellent service we got!

The people were very welcoming and the rooms are large, well cared for and clean. There is a lovely view of the marsh and ocean. There are spacious, well kept grounds with 2 pools and a spa. I stayed three nights, enjoying the beach and area with friends and family.

We stayed here for one night while in Ogunquit for a wedding. Thankfully they are one of VERY few properties that don't have a 2-night minimum even into September! The hotel is fairly dated, though the room was clean, the staff friendly and the grounds well-maintained. We expected the dated decor and no-frills style room, this seems standard for most of the area (with the exception of the remodeled Inns that are 2-3 times the cost). I was, however, surprised to see a paper reservation/room log at the desk! But, apparently it works as we had no difficulties with our reservation. I would rate the room/bed/noise level as only 'average' but the cleanliness, service and property (indoor/outdoor pools & jacuzzi) make it a 'very good' value.

Room Tip: I would look at the map and choose one without a shared balcony. I would also recommend the second f...

I stayed here 3 nights recently on 2 different occasions.Everything about the room was good, the people were friendly and helpful, they have two nice pools and a jacuzzi. It is right by the trolley stop for a 5 minute ride to town. You can walk in about 15 minutes to Ogunquit Beach which is a fantastic beach by any standards.

My sister and I happened on to The Mariner during a recent visit to Ogunquit where we'd made no reservations. Just driving by it, we noticed how well kept it was and decided to give it a try. The managers, evening and morning, could not have made us feel more welcome and the room was large and comfortable and overlooked the indoor and the outdoor pool areas. The many guests we saw also appeared to be so relaxed and enjoying the pool, porch area and water views at the end of the hotel property, in addition to the complimentary continental breakfast. The weather was warm during our stay and we were not able to reach the a/c located high on the back wall. However, we made one call to the office and in only minutes, the very accommodating manager was at our door to set it to suit our needs. We go to New England each year and I feel confident we will be staying at The Mariner on future visits.

Room Tip: We had a downstairs room which was extremely great for loading and unloading the car. Only problem...

The Mariner was not our first choice for this trip, but we decided to give them a try and we are very glad we did! This motel is very well run featuring very clean and comfortable rooms, nice grounds and a very pleasant and professional staff! This motel offers excellent value for your dollar! We would highly recommend this motel as it really offered excellent value!
