“Unforgettable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

My husband and I are frequent visitors to Ogunquit but this was our first stay at the Beachmere Inn. How did we ever miss it before? We had a wonderful time. The room was so welcoming with the double-sided fireplace being the centerpiece! The staff was so friendly and helpful. The food was exquisite! Our Valentine dinners were some if the best meals we have ever had. The location was perfect... directly on the Marginal Way with a short walk to Perkins Cove. Also short walks to restaurants, shops, the beach. We loved it so much we ended up staying an extra day!

Dear Sandyg1971

I'm pleased you found us. We love being that hidden gem in Ogunquit that has been around for 76yrs, a happy result of our off the road location. You must have stayed in one of our new West suites, one of my personal favorites with that gas fireplace. I sadly missed Valentines Dinner, but I have heard the rave reviews. I will make sure to let our chef know how pleased you both were. We'll be offering 5 more special dinner nights this spring, which we'll announce on our web site and on Facebook (follow us there). We hope you can return to us again. We'll be here and waiting for you. Thanks again, and enjoy the last days of winter!

This is maybe a bit atypical. The Beachmere is really condominium units that you can rent with a minimum (in most cases) of two day stay. We go there in the WINTER when there are few people around because the birdwatching on Marginal Way --just outside the door--is terrific. The best unit IMHO is 206 which is on the second floor facing the ocean. To get this unit you have to stay 3 days, even in the winter. We just stayed there on the weekend of the big blizzard in Maine. Very high winds and 30" of snow. Very exciting. I think we were on of very few people there.

The staff was very solicitous, wanted to help with everything and couldn't have been better.
Gas fireplace in the living room. Mini kitchen (microwave, induction hotplate, toaster, fridge.)

Great views from most of the units, but 206 is the best. A nice balcony with room for two seats (not too useful in the winter , but good for birding.

You won't be disappointed if you like to be on the ocean and pretty private. The rooms are connected (mostly) by exterior walkways so nobody is walking in front of your balcony.

We had a great time

Room Tip: Get room 206 if you can. It's right on the Ocean. Views are really to the north (up the coast...

We haven't stayed in Ogonquit overnite since our children were born, oldest twins. sixteen years old. It was literally a LAST SECOND DECISION. We took our youngest, a 10 yr old boy.
Words cannot describe the outstanding service, care, magnificent grounds, friendly staff, and most importantly, the upgraded condition of our suite and its cleanliness. The room was so comfortable that the only time I left it,was to go down for breakfasts, (food so tasty and well stocked and presented in an elegant manner). The staff in the kitchen servicing the breakfast lounge (so beautifully decorated and appointed) were so accomadating, personable ad kept the room so neat and clean, constantly restocking food and cleaning the tables after guests' meals.
The room was so impeccable and fresh, with a gas fireplace and two oversized flat screen TVs. The beds were so comfortable and the linen and comforters reminded me of the five star European hotels that we have stayed at. Bathroom was so large and spacey, with so much cabinet storage, and even heated tile floors.
Also, the elevator was so beneficial to me personally, because of a chronic knee condition.
I could go on and on, but last but definetely NOT least, the view from our oceanfront room was spectacular and so relaxing.
we look forward to returning in the near future with the rest of our family.
A great place for a family reunion weekend, etc.

Room Tip: We enjoyed being on the upper level, second floor for the panaramoic view. Loved the gas fireplace...

This place is beautiful... my husband and I wanted to get away from the city for a few days and this was the perfect spot. From the time we made our reservation, to the time we left, the service was just amazing… everyone was very nice and attentive… Also very clean..

Looking for an amazing massage? Meredith and Crystal were wonderful!!! My husband and I came out brand new and floated the rest of our stay.

Bawdy Sally’s Pub: Mike was very nice, prepared our delicious food and even came up and brought us our food on our last night, so that we wouldn’t have to go out in the cold, that was very kind of him... Thank-you Mike… The lobster roll and crab sandwich are a must here!!!

Room Tip: Room 224 was beautiful and spacious

Stayed here several times 20+ years ago and finally got back. What a wonderful renovation since then. My room was huge! 2 TV's, a kitchenette, really comfy bed, living room, dining area, fireplace and deck. Ocean views from every window.

All of the staff treated me like family. It's not easy to find that kind of attention at a larger inn so I was quite pleased during my 3 day stay to have everyone so friendly.

If room 224 is open, take it!

My husband and I stayed at the Beachmere Inn on the way to Ogunquit. BEAUTIFUL! The staff was so nice and the location couldnt be better. We were there during off season but still had a wonderful time. Right on Marginal Way and just 20 min (or less) from Kennebunkport, I highly recommend it! Did I mention the ocean view is incredible?? I will come back for sure!

Last minute booking at The Beachmere - they could not have been nicer. Immaculate room, comfy bed and linens. We enjoyed a walk on the snowy marginal way and beautiful views from our room. The breakfast was just right, fresh with plenty of choices, good coffee and very attentive staff.
We will be back - love Ogunquit "off season"!
