“Perfect location, awesome management.”

It was our first trip to Ogunquit and we knew we should be near the town (shops and restaurants), the Marginal Way and Perkins Cove. Parsons Post House Inn is just right. You walk out the door and the street of shopping and dining starts. Or you walk out the door and hop, skip and jump right onto Marginal Way. Its just right to get on the Marginal Way at this end, so you can build up an appetite by walking the path to Perkins Cove, and then either 'walk off' your dinner by returning by way of the path...or you can also take the street for a shorter route back.
My first indication that we had lucked into something good was that a young many showed us to our room at check-in, and his bedside manners were top notch. Those great manners and cheerfulness usually come from the top, and that proved to be the case here. The owners were always cheery and helpful, seemingly at all hours of the day. I almost tested them to see if I could find them at one point in a not great mood... Impossible!
OK, really nice folks....but what's the place like? Well, I'm really picky about all the details and this place is just right. It's not the Four Seasons, but they have done very well with this in-town building. The bathrooms, the bedrooms, all the details were very very good.
In our case, we also had two teenage children. It's an easy walk to the beach.
I guess you can tell, I strongly recommend!

Room Tip: We did find it quiet, even though it's right in town. Because we had two teenage children, and a...

After you make your reservation at Parsons, be sure to take the time to call or email the owners. Ask for tips for your favorite type of restaurant, directions for a day trip, whatever you need. From your first communication, you will be assured you are in great hands!
Small enough the owners are on site, the Parsons House is a friendly place to stay. Excellent experience. We had four in a room (two double beds) and the owners were very helpful in making it work for all of us. We took advantage of storing our luggage with the office so we had a little floor room to move around.
The breezy "sunroom" public sitting area on the 2nd level is comfortable and often your private reading room. The front/side patio is a great area to sit and enjoy some delicious goodies you bring home from the bakery or the town market.
TIP - After asking around, we learned that many of the traditional accommodations in this community are -- more European style/size than typical America--- smaller spaces, not grand -- quite clean and efficient, not run down or tired -- designed for practical, not for luxurious.
Lots of fun for adventurous travelers!
We were very happy with our stay at Parsons Post House Inn!

We spent 4 nights here in the middle of July. It is becoming an annual stay at the Parsons. Love the owners and the wonderful customer service they provide (along with the Fresh coffee in the morning). :-) The provided us with beach chairs, beach towels and a roll cart for our gear. How great is that? !!!! Can't beat the location.
Beautiful and newly updated rooms (including a new fridge in each room). It's comfort at it's finest. From the highly personalized service to the incredibly comfortable sheets. Can't say enough about this wonderful place.
No complaints. Though I have one suggestion to them: Parking is available but it's a tight squeeze. Maybe they could widen the spaces.

We honestly can not say enough about the Parsons Post House Inn. From the second we booked our reservation, Laura and John went out of their way to take care of us. Not only did they provide us with recommendations for meals and activities during our stay in Ogunquit, but they gave us a highly personalized list of recommendations for the other locations in Maine that we were visiting prior to arriving in Ogunquit! After traveling through Maine for five days, our trip culminated at the Parsons over 4th of July weekend. We arrived to a beautiful holiday spread that Laura and John had prepared, which was a beautiful and welcoming way to be greeted. The Inn itself was beautifully decorated and meticulously maintained. It was very apparent that no expense was spared in the recent renovation of this charming Inn. The location could not have been better - centrally located in Ogunquit, with views of and easy access to the ocean as well as the beautiful Marginal Way path along the shoreline. Our room itself was incredibly comfortable and stocked with high quality bathroom amenities. A couple nice touches included a personal note from Laura and John welcoming us to the Inn and some candy from a local candy shop. But this does not even begin to describe how accommodating Laura, John and the rest of the staff is at Parsons. We have stayed at more than a few "luxury" hotels and none of them came close to providing the level of personal service that you will receive at Parsons!

We spent a couple of days here in the middle of July and our stay couldn't have been better. Rooms were very clean and well stocked .. My kids loved the complimentary candy in the room and the mini muffins and cookies in the lobby. The owners, Laura and John are very welcoming and they made our stay even better . The location is perfect . They had beach chairs , towels and carts we could use which was a very thoughtful addition . Will definitely be going back next year .

We visit Maine every two years and stay in Ogunquit but this visit was extremely enjoyable at the Parsons Post. So clean and so comfortable . The owners are so kind they even provided beach carts, towels and umbrellas. We enjoyed the view from the second floor patio and could not believe how quiet it was all week long even though they were full. I will be a regular for sure!

My husband and I just returned home from Ogunquit. The Parsons Post House was very clean and in the most ideal location. Laura and John are the best Inn keepers! They were helpful and friendly! Would definitely stay there again. The bed was comfortable and all the necessities were available in the bathroom.
