As soon as we walked in and saw the decor, including ceiling tiles signed by hikers who have completed the Appalachian Trail, I knew that this place is what it purported to be. Let's face it, Millinocket is not the dining capital of the world, or even Maine. The Bangor paper characterizes locals here as leery of people "from away." (I am guessing that this owner isn't local for catering to tourists ; ) This cafe has friendly staff, cheerful and well-though-out themed surroundings as well as very good food at reasonable prices. We were there in January deep freeze. In the warmer season(s), their hours are extended to include supper, and they open their internet cafe and showers upstairs. I would like to go back, just to see the decor upstairs!
