“Not the best or worst”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2011

I've stayed here twice, the first time we walked in late at night and just needed somewhere to sleep and checked out the next morning, the only thing I really noticed the first time was the nice view of the river. This time, I had a chance to look around.
I wanted to take a bath, but had to go out and buy disinfectant. Why? Because when I looked closely, there was quite a number of long, curly hairs laying on the bottom of the tub. Needless to say I didn't feel comfortable bathing without cleaning first.
We stayed in a standard room with a compact kitchen, which included a 2 burner stove, compact fridge, sink, microwave, mini coffee maker, and I can't remember if there was a toaster. The cabinets were stocked with plates, bowls, pots and pans, and silverware, which was a plus.
The bathroom was the least clean space. The first night, I noticed a bug scurrying across the floor, and though at first glance the toilet seat looked clean, when I looked closely I saw that it clearly hadn't been cleaned in a long time. There was a paper stating it had been sanitized when we arrived, but there was dried urine everywhere when you lifted the seat up.
The walls are paper thin, I was woken up the first morning at 6am by the couple in the room next door having sex, and you can hear everything someone said in the next room. Even people walking by the room makes a racket.
Everything was dusty, and the outlets weren't very accessible (for charging phones, computers, etc.). The room key is an actual key and got stuck in the lock every time we went into the room. The beds were decently comfortable. The room was a good size with a good layout. The owners are nice. I was pleasantly surprised to find free wi-fi.
All in all, I'll stay here again, because it's cheap and you get what you pay for, I wasn't expecting 5 star service or cleanliness. I wish it had been cleaner, but it wasn't so unpleasant that I don't feel comfortable staying there, I'll just make sure to bring disinfectant and clorox wipes next time. Plus, we don't stay in the room most of the time anyway, we just need a place to sleep, and there aren't too many options in the area for such a cheap price.

“Great Value!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2010

Booked this place at the last minute. They are large enough and out of the way to allow for this. Older motel, but fairly well maintained and rooms have more square footage than the standard rooms at the competition. Plus you get the kitchenette. All for $75. Room was quiet with slight road noise in the AM as local commuters made their way into Bangor. It is 10 minutes north of town, but worth the drive. Hostess also called the room 5 minutes after we settled in to confirm it met our expectations. Now that's great service. Their don't advertise it, but I was able to access their WiFi to write this review from my room. If I was in the area again, definitely would stay here.

“Spacious and Clean”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2010

I've stayed here several times in the past year, while my daughter was attending UMaine. The price is great, rooms are spotless, and plenty of room. If your looking for luxury, this is not for you, but if you want a quiet, clean room to sleep in this is it.

“A quiet and clean two bedroom apartment with an incredible view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2009

My husband, son and I spent two nights over the Thanksgiving holiday in a two bedroom unit on the top floor. The unit was spotlessly clean with a living room, two bedrooms and a nice size full kitchen complete with four burner stove, full size refrigerator, microwave, dishes, utensils, and everything needed to cook full meals. We also had an incredible view of the river which looks more like a lake because of its size. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. Even though the motel is right off Route 2, it was very quiet in general. There is a communal washer and dryer on the first floor. I would recommend this motel to anyone staying in the Bangor/Orono who want all the comforts of home but don't want to pay the inflated chain hotel prices.

“Great Little PLace at a Great Price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2008

We called this motel at the last minute as we were escaping a wet campground and loved it! Their two-bedroom suite is like a two bedroom apartment. There is a full stove, microwave and fridge. There were two separate bedrooms and the entry room/kitchenette. There are laundry facilities onsite and it was all just for $120! For three adults and two children, you can't beat it. If you are family on a budget, you could easily stay there for a week and cook your own food to save money on eating out with the full kitchen!
