Our priority was to be able to take our little dog along on a quick getaway to the Maine coast, so we searched for pet-friendly and found so much more in this b&b. We were a bit apprehensive about the name at first, but found it to be a great location after a drive up to Portsmouth, NH for a day of shopping/sightseeing and on to the southern Maine seacoast the next day. This b&b is artfully appointed, from great antique furniture to accessories -- if you have an appreciation for homey, fun, shabby chic decor as opposed to the all-to-available vanilla/sterile motel room, Enchanted Nights is a real find. We opted for a mid-range room, and were not penalized because of the dog (all rooms are available to pets). While we had to opt out of breakfast, it's vegetarian-friendly (which is also a plus for us). Great riverside neighborhood was great for early morning dog-walking. We recommend this b&b and would book again!

Very courtesy, staff was great, rooms okay, lots and lots and lots of clutter, great beds but odd Band B experience, great service but could have been better "experience"

We stayed at Enchanted Nights for our 11th wedding anniversary and it was wonderful. Our room, Bella, was gorgeous with lots of romantic Victorian touches. There is a whirlpool tub for 2, a walk in shower and so much more. The breakfast was delicious and hot and served right on time. The innkeepers are friendly and had helpful suggestions for things to do and places to eat.

My boyfriend and I went for my birthday/first romantic getaway, and let me tell you... the Bella Room is AMAZING!!!!! I have no idea what the other people are talking about when they say the place is rundown and dirty, our experience was anything but. I've been to a lot of B & B's, and this one was the most romantic and definitely the most fun! Yes, there are tons of old furniture and knick knacks everywhere, yes it may seem a little weird at first, but for us, it was part of the fun of it all. We definitely escaped our everyday lives!

Peter was so friendly and helpful, he pointed out a ton of things we could do while we were there. The breakfast was good, but I agree with other people that there should be options.

To be honest, my boyfriend was a little scared/worried at just the prospect of going away together, but after that weekend, he can't wait to go away again!

We loved Enchanted Nights, for all its quirks and charm. The romance factor was definitely way up and we had a blast.

We loved this place. Our group was a large one: we rented the stand-alone building (two units) plus 2 units in the main building. The downstairs unit in the separate building had a full kitchen, so we made a big dinner. We walked into downtown Portsmouth, even though cabs were easy to call. The owners were helpful and nice.
