This was our second visit to the Captain Lord Mansion, and, hopefully, not the last. (BTW, we discovered the pathway to the main house, which was paved with the bricks engraved with the names of folks who stayed at the mansion 10 or more times. Nice!!!) Actually, this time we were upgraded to a bigger room, at no extra charge... What can I say? We didn't want to leave... Of course, my heart goes out to those poor guys from New York and New Jersey who found a much needed shelter at the Mansion, while Sandy demolished their shores. It was an island of tranquility amidst all the craziness of the last days of October... Thanks again, Bev and Rick and everyone at the Mansion, for the wonderful service, great food, superb cleanliness, and, most of all, for that cozy feeling that envelopes you when you cross the imaginary line between 'now' and 'then'! Once again, it was a wonderful journey to a different, gentler time!
