This was by far the best Bed and Breakfast experience I have ever had. The house was lovely and very comfortable with extremely friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast is absolutely out of this world! The location is perfect for walking into the town. I can't wait to go back again!

It was my first stay at B&B and it was really great. All the people made me feel like I was at home rather then in a hotel. That was my first trip to Maine- Kennebunkport and I was truly pleasantly surprised by the worm welcome we received everywhere. In Captain Jefferds Inn they had all the menus from local restaurants so you can choose where you want to go in advance, they had a suggestions with activities for both rainy and sunny days which helped a lot since during the time we were staying it was really miserable weather.

It is unfortunate that we weren’t able to provide better weather for your first trip to Maine and Kennebunkport, but we are very happy to hear that you had a great stay with us and that you felt right at home. That “I’m home” feeling is exactly what we hope every guest experiences while here. Thank you so much for kind words. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again the next time you are in Kennebunkport!

Finished off our grand tour of New England here recently
could not have asked for more everything about this place is perfect.
The room although not one of there largest was bright and airy very comfortable beds (often a point of contention inns)
Lovely cookies and cheese every day served in a super garden room
all duty managers were great and gave good advice could not have been more helpful.
Will return when funds are willing.

First trip to Maine--Kennebunkport was just a moving postcard, and the Captain Jefferds Inn is at the heart of all of it. We had the smallest room, but it was just right for two people who wanted to roam the outdoors all day. Speaking of which, they have some old school bikes for tooling around, and my husband and I had the time of our lives riding all over. The breakfast was amazing, and they really do everything they can to make your stay hospitable and happy. Can't wait to get back.

Room Tip: The Hideaway is a snug fit--think European boutique hotel. Not a problem, unless you are one of thos...

We are very happy to hear that you had a wonderful stay with us and enjoyed exploring lovely Kennebunkport. Our beach cruiser bikes are definitely a great way to check out the area and it is really neat to know that you had a ball riding around on them. We’re glad that the small but charming Hideaway room was the perfect fit. Thank you so much for sharing your experience and your kind words. We look forward to welcoming you back soon!

It was a typical early summer New England weekend with weather which ranged from cold and rainy to warm and sunny however it was always warm and inviting at the Captain Jefferd's. Although initially the Captain Jefferd's was not our first choice we are very glad we stayed there. The atmosphere is warm and cozy while been bright and full of light. Owners Erik and Sarah are great and can't do enough for you. A highlight is the formal breakfast in the beautiful dining room where we were seated the other guests. It was a nice friendly way to start the day and get to know the other guests. Starting the day with coffee (always available) in the sunroom or on the back deck was a relaxing way to start the day. The location can't be beat as it is a quick 5 minute walk to Dock Square. We absolutely would recommend the Captain Jefferd's to anyone looking for a nice getaway to Kennebunkport.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Connecticut Room. It was smallish but very sufficient. It you want a bigger room tr...

We are so pleased that your stay was everything you wanted and more! We strive to create an environment that invites guests to settle in, relax, and make the most of everything the area has to offer, rain or shine. It is wonderful that breakfast ended up being a highlight for you. We consider it to be one of the main characters in the show and focus on serving creative fare in a welcoming setting. Thank you so much for sharing your experience and for your recommendation! We look forward to welcoming you back to the inn the next time your travels bring you to Kennebunkport.

I have been very hesitant to stay at B&B's due to unpleasant previous experiences. The Captain Jefferds Inn has cured me of this. Everything was perfect. The room (the Camden) was beautiful, the staff and owners really friendly, helpful, and professional, and the breakfasts were wonderful. The raspberry/ cream cheese french toast was one of the best breakfasts I ever had. (Unlike other stuffed french toasts it was not too sweet - just the right amount of tartness.) The 3 course breakfast is served with edible flowers that (sometimes) even match the flowered plates. Attention to detail abounds. The owners even put a ladder in their tiny frog pond to ensure the frogs could climb out of the water safely. The location is perfect. Close enough to walk to town and the beautiful stretch of ocean avenue by the water, but in a quiet residential area. The free bottled water was much appreciated. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: The Camden room has a wood burning fireplace and no wallpaper, for those who like a less colonial fe...

“Perfect” is quite a compliment, but the fact that your experience here has cured you of your fear of B&B’s is even more exciting to hear! We couldn’t be happier than to know that you enjoyed so many elements of your stay. We’re glad that you really liked the stuffed French toast. We have several different versions which all tend to be big hits.

The frog ladder was built by our handyman after he witnessed the resident frog struggle to get up and over the side of the pond. Now the frog not only uses it as a means of exiting the water but also as a favorite spot to stay partially submerged while watching the world. Even our amphibian guests get star treatment.

Thanks so much for your recommendation and your enthusiastic review! We hope to have the pleasure of hosting you again the next time your travels bring you to Kennebunkport.

Wishing you the best, Sarah and Erik, Keepers of the Captain Jefferds Inn

My wife and I stayed here because of the reviews the Inn received as well as being dog friendly. The hospitality, food, location and Inn are all top notch. The Inn and it's staff provide an experience that is personal and unique when compared to others and very worth the little extra money. We are looking forward to our next stay!
