This was our first time staying at the Captain Fairfield Inn - My Boyfriend (uhm… I mean Fiancé) and I booked a 2 night stay for a romantic weekend away following Valentine’s Day! We always enjoyed passing through Kennebunkport when traveling north from Boston but had yet to stay overnight. We were not disappointed; from the very moment we arrived we were impressed and pleased with our choice. We knew we would be arriving late to check in, so we called ahead and asked to have wine glasses left in our room so we could settle in with a glass of wine before bed. Upon our arrival we found not just the requested wine glasses but wine and cookies left in our room. We stayed in the James room which was exactly as the website describes; spacious with an amazingly comfortable pillow-top mattress, and a sleek, European style modern gas fireplace which kept the room warm and cozy. The next morning we were even more impressed with Alana and Jed for the three course breakfast was phenomenal; mouthwatering local fare with an elegant presentation. This romantic weekend away became even more memorable when just before heading to our couples massage at the Cottage Breeze Day Spa & Boutique, which Alana had arranged for us, my boyfriend proposed! When we returned Alana & Jed provided us with a small bottle of champagne to celebrate. We absolutely LOVED staying here and plan on coming back every year to celebrate our engagement anniversary!
