“Solo Retreat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

Once again, a restful, peaceful and inspiring trip to the Fontenay Terrace. It proves itself a gem each time I go, and as always, the Fontenay offers clean, comfortable and accomodating rooms. Although, to it's advantage, it is out of the way of all the hustle and bustle, it is only a short walk to the village for shopping, restaurants, fishing, boating and the beach. Also a short walk north on Ocean Drive is the historic St. Ann's Church and the Bush family ocean home. Thank you David and Paula for another comfortable stay. It is never long enough. See you in the spring.

“A Great Haven for Fall Foliage”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

I've stayed at four other lodgings in Kennebunkport over the last 20 years and Fontenay Terrace has become my favorite. It's far enough from Dock Square so you're away from the hustle and bustle of those on bus tours, but close enough that you can walk there for a meal, whale watching, or shopping. In the other direction is the shoreline and you can take wonderful walks that always present something new. The rooms are very comfortable and have both microwaves and small, dorm-size refrigerators ideal for chilling some wine and/or cheese or keeping cream for your morning coffee. After a busy day, it's a treat to sit outside your room and read or just relax.

The hosts, David and Paula, are always very welcoming and have great advice on things to do and where to eat.

Room Tip: The Web site gives very accurate pictures of the rooms and their amenities. Room 1 is closest to th...

“Great location and value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012 via mobile

This is a perfect place to stay in Kennebunkport. It is close enough to walk to town and only a block from the beach. We were lucky enough to get room number 8 which has a picture window overlooking the inlet. I did not see the other rooms, but we were glad to spend a little extra to have the end unit. Any room should be nice. The common areas offer views of the small inlet and pretty grounds. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Wish we had more than one night to stay! A great long walk along the waterfront will bring you past beautiful homes and the Bush Compound. We also enjoyed eating at Mabel's which is right next door. Don't believe the other reviews. We had a great meal at Mabel's. Order the local fish. You can't go wrong.

“Never let's us down!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2012

The Fontenay Terrace is very high on our list of places to stay in Kennebunkport. We have been staying there over more than a decade when we travel to Maine and we have never been disappointed. The rooms are very clean and great care is given to make the stay just perfect. The Fontenay Terrace is in a most convenient location and just a short walk across the street to the beach. We can walk to town and enjoy everything.
