Was looking for a quick weekend getaway to beautiful Moosehead Lake and town of Greenville, Maine. Had driven past many times in the past and was never impressed. But Chalet Moosehead Lakefront Motel still was not worth the C-Note dropped here. The online site had shown a "New" annex with larger rooms and whirlpool tubs and a private balcony. Unfortunately I was placed on the bottom floor near the end of building. Soundproofing was not one of the new inherent designs here. Walls and floors were paper thin. Heard traffic from main drag (Pritham Ave) over 50 yards away. Towels and toiletries (my rags at home were thicker) were not quality material. Mattresses were rock hard and pillows were barely filled.... Wasn't even a Clock/Radio, a clock....but no radio. ($100+night) here, folks. Been to Greenville and Moosehead for over 20 years. Weren't the friendliest hosts, I'm afraid. For $100 + a night, I won't be back. There are other cheaper motels in town. Time for a large 100-room chain (Holiday,Days, Comfort) to come to Moosehead, that would be worth the money.
