I was there as an event planner for a wedding and the inn keepers Ruth and Dan were amazing. Amy and the chefs did an incredible job - BEST MEAL EVER!! I'd recommend this place to anybody any time for an anniversary celebration, wedding, special weekend get away, etc. My new FAVORITE place!!

“Absolutely Delightful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014

Maine is famous for its spectacular, natural vistas, but, frankly, we were astounded to dine at a truly fine restaurant while overlooking gorgeous Moosehead Lake in Greenville, Maine. Why would anyone expect to find a world class, high end dining experience in the land of trail mix and pick up trucks?

The restaurant at the Blair Hill Inn is a wonderfully special experience and it is easily worth the steep fixed price fare. Save up and savor any chance you get to dine at this truly "destination" restaurant. To best enjoy it check the weather in advance before making your reservation to take advantage of the truly incredible sunset view of Moosehead Lake off in the distance below. Actually, hundreds of feet below and to the west.

You might expect such a distinguished place with a beautiful dining room, high end prices, fine table settings, outstanding food, sophisticated service and a really good wine list to be stuffy and impressed with itself. It isn't. Blair Hill makes every guest feel welcomed and valued. Diners are encouraged to dress as they wish, but most will wish to dress up a bit out of respect for the effort being put forth by Chef Gary Dethlefsen and the rest of this very accomplished team.

The restaurant, open to the public on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, offers a fixed price menu which included a choice of two appetizers, one salad, one soup, three entrées and two desserts. None of our party had any difficulty selecting from the well balanced offerings, and each of us raved about each course.

We splurged on two bottles of wine at $46.00 a bottle (a very fair price for the Sancerre), and, given the overall experience and food, had no complaints about paying $300.00 for our four delicious dinners. Yes, it's pricey, but we felt it was very good value for the memorable evening we thoroughly enjoyed.

“Wow!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2013

This inn sets the standard for graciousness, cleanliness, excellent cuisine, beautiful ambiance and stunning views. Owners, Ruth and Dan, along with the rest of lithe staff have a passion for what they do and it is evident in their warm hospitality and hard work.
