I reviewed this place a year ago and we were concerned that they may have lost their chef over the winter - it frequently happens - but "not to worry"...The Maine dining experience doesn't get much better than this. Certainly one of the top two or three restaurants north of Portland...There was only two of us this year. We had the obligatory drinks in the rocking chairs on the veranda - fantastic view of the islands and the mouth of the Sheepscot River - and a table by the window inside for dinner. I had the seafood chowder - to die for - and Angela had the fresh beet salad and raved about it. For the main course I had the fried hake with panko and she had the pheasant. Both excellent. Excellent service, friendly hosts, a nice bar, upscale cliental and an good and reasonable wine list. A leisurely adult dining experience..Not for little monsters!..Three Gardner stars.
