We love B&B experiences and what we particulary valued about our stay last week at the Oxford House Inn was the outstanding food and the incredible wait staff. This is a true 'team' effort at making a dining experience all that it should be----thank you also to Natalie and Jonathan for being available to share their journey during these past five years.

From the moment we arrived until to time we departed, our experience was absolutely awesome. From driving down Main Street, we drove right past the house because it was in the mix of a small town business area. We got out of our car and looked to the right. All we saw was beuaty with mountans in the back, cornfields with a long dirt road winding through it, complete with the old, beat up tractor, and a skyline that was gorgeous. Natalie, one of the owners, checked us in early and was very warm and welcoming. We booked The Porch Room, and for the extra $20, it was WELL worth it. The best part of the OXford House Inn overall is they have the exact right mix of modern amenities like flat screen TVS and Wi-Fi internet, yet it's cozy, comforting, rustic. The room was spotless - very well cleaned and you're welcomed with a dish of Lindt chocolates! I knew we were at "home" right away. From the breath-taking views of the mountains, skyline, and farm from the Breakfast Porch in the back of the inn - complete with woodpeckers and other small birds eating breakfast off the bird feeders, to the different views each room offers - you're sure to hit a home run here.

Jonathan is an outstanding chef and if you're spending the weekend, you have to dine there both nights. We booked the 2 night stay with a 3 course dinner. The selection of food was so vast because it covered all types of tastes and desires. I dined on Tequila Lime marinated pork roast with Kale and fried zuchinni shaved chips. My girlfriend had grilled swordfish over an artichoke salad and we had panzanella salad (cucumber, tomatoes, mozarella, red onion, in a Balsamic vinegarette with homemade crutons) as well as mussels for an appetizer. My second night included Hoisin duck with scallion pancakes and the Onion rings are AN ABOSOLUTE MUST TRY!!! They are perfectly fried and the onion doesn't pull out when you bite into them.

After the days adventures of walking through the cornfields to a private beach (10 minute walk), canoeing down the Saco River (multiple rental locations withing 10-15 minute drives of the Inn), hiking (Jockey Trail is a 10 minute drive), we spent both evenings out by the fire pit sipping on wine and enjoying the evening air.

Breakfasts are fully complete with Jonathan's fresh baked good of the day like banana bread or blueberry coffee cake, as well as fresh fruit.

The prices are extremely reasonable. I can't wait for my next trip here. You will not be disappointed by anything! (I feel like Ron Burgundy saying, "Stay classy San Diego.")

Room Tip: The Porch Room is wel worth the additional $20. Complete with 2 TVs, a lounger chair in the porch ro...

I had found the Oxford House on-line a while back when I was looking for a weekend away in the North Conway area. I saw the photos on-line and I thought it looked great. The package we got was a great price. 2 night stay, a 3 course dinner for 2 and 2 breakfasts for under $400. I thought that was more than reasonable. We arrived and almost drove right past it! It's very unassuming from the front, but as we walked around the grounds and walked around the back and saw the view, it was so unexpected just how expansive it was. It was beautiful. Adirondack chairs set up around a fire pit and a huge gorgeous tree with a 2 person swing hanging down, and the mountain view in the distance complete with corn fields and a dirt road which will lead you to a small private beach. We were in our glory and it only got better! We were checked in early by Natalie the owner who was very sweet and gracious. We reserved the Porch Room and it was beautiful. The decor was updated but still held the charming old touches. Clean and fresh and and bright. Pride of ownership is evident everywhere in this home. The food...where do I being about the food?! Amazing. Everything we ate was delicious, well prepared, seasoned perfectly and cooked even more perfectly. Jonathan is quite the chef! The staff were all so professional but warm and welcoming at the same time. It was a great weekend. The area is full of fun things to do, canoeing, hiking, shopping at the outlets is minutes away. It's a great location because nothing is too far away. Enjoy! We sure did!

Room Tip: The porch room is well worth it!

The Oxford House is simply the best place to have a nice dinner in the White Mountain area. We ate here last year and had an amazing dinner so we decided to go again. Im happy to report that it was still amazing. We made reservations well in advance for a table on the back sun porch with a view of the mountains. The tables to request (for 2 people) are 21,22, or 23. They have a diagram with the mountain's names for the curious. There are also bird feeders outside the windows that keep different birds stopping by. Hence, they have a bird identification guide for the curious. Our waitress was very attentive and pleasant. The food was very well presented. It tasted even better. We had the scallops and fillet for our meals and both were perfectly cooked. We had the ice cream sampler, it was recommended by other trip advisor reviewers because its homemade. The ice cream was good, especially the chocolate, but I think I'd try something else next time.

Save room for after dinner drinks in the very welcoming bar in the cellar. If the mosquitos aren't too bad you can even have a drink outside on the chairs in front of a fire while watching the mountains in the distance. Just an FYI, the mosquitos are bad in Maine this year.

The Oxford House, formerly the private residence of a wealthy family, has retained its old elegance and home-like atmosphere. It is beautifully maintained and has a gourmet dining room. The view from the back of the house is over a lush intervale with New Hampshire's White Mountains in the distance. The owners' attention to detail and concern for the comfort of their guests are unmatched. I strongly recommend this property.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back.

We have been to the OHI before and knew what to expect with the food, rooms and service, only the best. But Natalie and Jonathan once again out performed themselves. For our 25th anniversary we booked the whole Inn and had close friends with us. From the moment we got here, to the special wild flower bouquet and chocolates in the room, to the special attention to our favorite app, shrimp and grits, everything was done as if we were VIP's. Both owners love what they do and it shows in the passion for the Inn and the special attention they give to everyone. We could not have planned a better 25th and are happy to have had Natalie & Jonathan be a big part of it! Come, stay the weekend and we promise you will feel the same, you may even convience them to open a bottle of wine with you around the campfire and tell a few stories!! LOVE IT!
